Metro Stars Happy Turbulent Off Season is Over

Hey you are the 2045 World Champions! What are you going to do now? If you answered change your GM you might want to play the lotto, but that's exactly what happened to the reigning and defending champion Mumbai Metro Stars. The Metro Stars brought in new GM Dave Burcicki to take charge of the defending champions. "We've got some talent on the roster. I'm excited for spring training to begin to have some interactions with the guys and see what exactly we have right now. I know they won the championship last year, but they also finished under .500 and in second place in the division. So there is definitely some room for improvement on the roster. My goal is to get a feel for what we have on the team right now before deciding to make any big trades or signings that might hamper the team down the line. We've also got to fill out our staff" said Burcicki

Since being named the new GM the Metro Stars have added 32 year old utility man Ismael Pena, 24 year old infield Eugene Santos, and 24 year old reliever Wallace Hawkins all on minor league deals. Only Pena is expected to have a chance to make the active roster this year. Also added to the organization were first year head coach Norberto Pacheco who will manager the Ho Chi Minh City Express. Pacheco will be joined by veteran hitting coach Norbert Marsuppini this year.

Prior to the GM change the Metro Stars added multi-time all star Weaver Ripley. All in all it should be a fun season for the Metro Stars.

Dave, one suggestion -- since you're taking over a championship club, you'll want to quickly put your own imprint on the team. You can do so by trading your best players to the Tripoli Piranhas. In return, we have several 29- and 30-year olds languishing in AAA. Just a thought.

Clearly the team won a championship in SPITE of the former GM, not be because of him. That must be why they made a change. Right?

Good luck Dave.
