MUMBLES AND GRUMBLES
The only Mumbai Metro Stars blog you need to read.

Living in a chawl can really be a challenging experience folks. If you don't know a chawl is a residential building with shared kitchen, bath and other common areas. There's little privacy and petty disputes are frequent. It's noisy and inconvenient (also cheap) but sometimes it's pretty fun. Like the other night when myself and a couple families got together to make a feast and we had a bit of an impromptu party. It can really lift the spirits if only temporarily.
Likewise, the spirits of Stars fans have to be a bit elevated lately. With a couple of weeks of solid baseball they have climbed to a 32-25 record but will the good feelings last? Their run differential is still in the negative territory and their Pythagorean record is substantially worse. Additionally the pitching staff has started to get dinged up a bit which was a concern though they are relatively healthy at the moment. There's a 100 or so games left to see if the results are more luck than ability. In the meantime let's take a look at a few notes.
The Stars fee agent signings have really pitched in so far. Carlos Reyes has been spicier than a vindaloo and has tallied a 160 OPS+ for the year. Designated hitter Andy Seekins, has only played 13 games but his .348/.455./.696 slash line since being signed has given the offense a much needed boost. Donald Harris has been solid for the starting staff with an ERA+ of 115. While not spectacular, he's been healthy and steady for a unit that's really needed it.
UPCOMING – Road trippin' for 3 at Baghdad and 3 at Tripoli before coming home to play 3 against the Fightin's.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR? - There's the ongoing question of can the starters stay healthy and productive? Rookie SS Matthew Hewat has struggled so far this year but lately has shown some positive signs at the plate. We'll look to see if that becomes a trend.
I am working on a separate draft and minor league update that should be out soon so stay tuned Stars fans.

I have never heard of 'chawl.' Is that a real thing?
Anyway, congrats on your FAs working out. Harris is a bargain. Seekins and Reyes are great finds on the scrap heap. Jealous all around.

Yeah sometimes you get lucky with those guys. Chawls are a real thing. I had no idea either until I did some googling and they were made as cheap housing for textile/cotton workers etc..

Hewatt's the real deal. 8 CON potential for a SS that is a defensive gem? That is practically unheard of. Look at what he was doing in AAA at beginning of year. He will do fine in major leagues.

Yeah I believe so too. I was definitely left with some good players to work with.
