The Mumbaikar Vol 1 Ep 4- Pitching Where For Art Thou?

As the All Star Break comes and goes, Mumbai enters the second half of the season with obvious weaknesses in pitching and a revolving door at shortstop.

As a team, pitchers have been putting up a respectable 4.43 Team ERA with opposing batters putting up and also respectable slash line of .264/.324/.421. While these numbers aren't horrible, they aren't in the same league as the Bancroft front runners from the Holy Land.

Individually, SP Fujita and Gonzalez are leading the rotation with ERA+ of 108 and 152. The other three starting pitchers have ERA+ values closer to a dumpster fire than actual UMEBA quality. George Russell may want to consider career options while he hangs out on the waiver wire...

The bullpen has been meh so far, good enough for third best ERA in the UMEBA but needs to be much better if a repeat is in the cards. Closer Mike Manning has been solid racking up 25 saves with a 173 ERA+. Guo has been another stand out, posting a 165 ERA+ and limiting opponents to a .215 batting average. Going forward, look for the Metro Stars to make changes to the rest of the pen and try to limit 1 run losses in the late innings.

Shortstop is the other glaring weakness for the Stars. It was a relative strength with Fronteiro healthy, but lack of depth became apparent when he went down with a broken hand. Randolph Webber stepped in to the role but soon found himself also on the IL with a fractured wrist. Mumbai might have called up Adam Johnson from AAA Lagos but he broke a fuckin' finger. (will the rest of UMEBA please cease pitching inside to my shortstops!)

Haters gonna hate. Mumbai was, and always will be, the pinnacle of UMEBA greatness.
