The Mumbaikar Vol 1 Ep 2 - Down Goes O

Post by FuzzyRawley » Sat Sep 28, 2019 6:45 pm

As spring training comes to a close, the start of the the 2040 season begins with more questions than answers for this Metro Stars roster.

Sang-mok O, who was supposed to be a key piece of the relief corps depth, instead finds himself with an appointment with none other than Mr. Tommy John. Rumour has it, O's UCL blew out on an off day when he joined a pick up cricket match on his way home. Looks like Mumbai will be scouring the waiver wire and free agents to help shore up an already weakened bullpen.

Heading into Opening Day, its clear this roster should produce some competitive baseball, but the clear lack of left
-handed anything means this squad has few options against right-handed pitching and even fewer options against left-handed batters. GM Geoff Webb has already been spotted at the Leftorium where he presumably scouring the customer records hoping to find just one southpaw who can throw a few pitches in the middle innings.

In other news, the Metro Stars inked SS Baltasar Fronteiro to a 1-year $1,800,000 contract. The 33 year-old journeyman infielder is coming off a 2039 season which saw the bulk of his at bats come for the AAA Brooklyn Bombers where he slashed .278/.349/.534. The hope here for the Metro Stars is that Fronteiro can provide a reliable mid to bottom of the order bat.
 They say it don't be like it is, but it do!

Good luck this year! If you haven't seen it I did a preview of your team a week ago in the "Previews" forum section. You might want to check it out if you haven't yet...
