Webb Hired As New Metro Stars GM

Post by FuzzyRawley » Sun Sep 08, 2019 8:07 pm

It was another typical hot and humid day in Mumbai when Geoff "Fuzzy" Webb took the podium just in front of the pitcher's mound at Tata Motors field. A visibly sweaty Webb was quoted: "Uhh yeah, don't know how I ended up here, but I'll make the most of it. By most of it, I mean most of the butter chicken and samosas that this town has!"

The local press was not amused.

Webb coming off six solid seasons as the GM of the Philadelphia Phillies in NIBA has large shoes to fill. The Metro Stars are coming off a stellar season which saw them capture a wildcard and come second in the Bancroft League. Fuzzy Webb hasn't led the Phillies to 4/5ths of jack in NIBA but he is noted for how he handled Dick Allen and his two heaters an inning habit in the Philly dugout.

Asked what his plans were for the Metro Stars, Webb replied: "Probably going to do my best not to die of heat stroke first, then I'll just try to copy what the last manager did."
 They say it don't be like it is, but it do!

Congratulations! Mumbai has a proud tradition of winning and extreme verbosity. We former Metro Stars GMs will be expecting great things from you. But if you can’t deliver, we’ll at least expect long-winded excuses ...

Have fun!

Welcome...please take it easy on me this season. LOL After checking out stats looks like I went 6-12 against the Metro Stars last season. Which is surprising since I went 57-105 overall. LOL

Yes, I'm a proud ex-Mumbai GM. Mumbai is the jewel of the UMEBA, grooming the best of the future BBA General Managers.

Welcome to the tradition, Geoff!

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.
