Highlights: The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers blistered Aurelio Fernández, making his first start for Mumbai, for 9 runs, 9 hits and 5 home runs. Jerusalem scored 5 in the bottom of the third to take the lead, then added another 4 in the fifth. Second baseman Chester Owens had a big day, going 2 for 4 with a walk and two homers. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4.

Cliché of the Game: “We were able to get some things going offensively,” said Owens.

Highlights: The Metro Stars beat Jerusalem 3-2, holding on against a late Hebrew Hammers comeback bid Saturday evening at the Holy Land ballpark. Mumbai was leading 3-1 heading into the bottom of the 8th inning, when third baseman Patrick Lue hit a towering, 405-foot solo homer to right center field and pull Jerusalem to within a run. Rafael Cruz came on in the 9th for the Metro Stars to clinch the win.

Cliché of the Game: “We’ll enjoy this win. But there’s more that we hope to accomplish,” said Mumbai center fielder Michael MacRain, who hit a 2-run homer in the 4th inning.

Highlights: The Hebrew Hammers crushed Mumbai 12-5 Sunday evening with an offensive outpouring keyed by first baseman Roberto Pérez and DH Jesús Alvarado. Pérez hit 2 homers and drove in 4 runs, while Alvarado went 2 for 4 with a 2-run homer and a double.

Cliché of the Game: “The boys came out and just played their butts off,” said Jerusalem Manager Clancy Shanahan.
