The Mumbaikar Vol 2 Ep 3 - Houston We Have a Run Problem

Post by FuzzyRawley » Tue Jan 21, 2020 8:17 pm

As the United Middle Eastern Baseball Association draws closer to the all star break, temperatures at the ball diamonds are unbearably hot, but at least fans seated near the Metro Stars dugout can get relief from the Mumbaikars' bats....cause they are ice cold (i'll show myself out).

The Metro Stars have put up a paltry 276 runs, second last in the league. This dismal run scoring performance isn't the result of untimely hitting, it's the result of crappy hitting all around. I won't run through each individual stat, but needless to say, if there's an average, Metro Stars hitting is below that.

Updates

SS Harvey Spectre was claimed off waivers from Manama. Spectre isn't expected to do much other than provide depth at a position that was devastated by injuries last season.

SP Motoichi Fujita was told to pack his bags and fly across two oceans and three continents to AA Sao Paulo because he, for lack of a better word, sucked.

Same goes for 1B Steve Kennedy and SP Manny Lopez. Both ended up in Brazil after clearing waivers. Expect Mumbai to clear some space at AAA Lagos to get these veterans out of the way for younger players at this level.

RP Juan Romo was also picked up off waivers from Manama (thanks Pearls!). The lefty was a desperately needed addition to the righty heavy pen. So far, so good, he's putting up a 2.45 ERA over 7 innings since arriving (not looking at his FIP, not looking at his FIP).

Finally, RP Sang-mok O finally returned to the UMEBA level after missing more than a year due to Tommy John. Hopefully, over time he's a welcome addition back in the 'pen, cause right now he's turrible.

Get those thirty somethings out of AA lol. If you can’t rate better than AA in your thirty’s, you deserve a trip to unemployment ;)
