In the streets of London, fans once again get to celebrate as champions of the GBC. The Mayor and local law enforcement feel they have a safe environment for the fans to enjoy this. Its been a long season and our fan base deserves to celebrate this safely. The fans are getting use to winning and we hope to continue that on for future years GM Spencer said.
Defeating the Cairo Pharaohs 5 games to 1 brought the 3rd championship in team history and all 3 of those have been in the past 5 years. Pitching was the key in this series as the Monarchs only allowed 4 or more runs one time and that was game one. Going into this series we was banged up we lost our top hitterBrad Parkinson who sprained his on the next to last game of the season. In addition the Monarchs lost CF defensive wizard Tyler Pavey to a sprained knee. We had been trying to rest some of our guys to avoid injury but the bug still hit us. We have been fighting adversity all season so we was prepared for this and the guys really stepped up.
Jae-hyung Chi was named MVP of the series after batting .417 and hitting 2 HR and driving in 6 RBI. "It feels totally incredible," Chi said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment. Chi is part of a group of bats including Parkinson who are free agents. GM Spencer said we are hoping to bring anyone back that would like resign. Maintaining an environment of winning is important to us as an organization.
