57.02 Ironing Legend Taps Out Frozen Food Magnate as Monarchs’ Head Cheese

Post by joshd19 » Fri Nov 17, 2023 5:41 pm

Some people just know how to live, and that certainly seems to be the case for the Monarchs’ former GM, whose on-the-side frozen bubble & squeak enterprise raised such a successful Series A round that it demanded more attention than could reasonably be afforded by the strictures of international baseball operations. And so they tapped me—the King himself claims to have been closely following my exploits in the management of participants in the Global Extreme Ironing Consortium and Operation (GEICO). Extreme ironing is much like baseball in terms of UCL injury frequency, so it’s hardly a Ted Lasso situation.

Anyway, after my luxurious noontime flight across the pond and the requisite royal reception, I set to learning the Monarchs organization and, indeed, the whole GBC. Meetings with minor league staffers across four continents revealed a modest system whose hopes center on #1 league prospect RF Mas’ud Bin Salah al Din and not much else. I’ll work to diversify this talent stream in time, but my immediate priority is to field a competitive Opening Day lineup. And, even more immediately, to do so without exceeding the salary cap. If any GMs have cap space to spare, I’m sure we can work something out.

First moves included a closer look at veteran RP Carlos Rocha, who had not made the ST roster (perhaps for financial reasons), as well as extending offers to two FA minor league personnel. More to come!

PS please let me know if this is formatted correctly!

Always wondered what GEICO stood for.

Good job!

How could this be accomplished? Is there inter-league trading or posting?

Just do everyone a favor and release him into free agency :D

Otherwise, no. There used to be a draft where BBA teams could select from GBC for compensation, but it’s been removed.
