Jae-hyung Chi, were the stars of the press conference that was held today to announce a new marketing partnership with Kim & Chi, a local artisan kimchi producer. Kim and Chi told of their frustration trying to find quality kimchi in the UK like they had grown up with in Korea. Then they discovered Kim & Chi, a London startup founded by two Korean ex-pats named Mieun Kim and Hujong Chi, who recognized the business opportunity to bring authentic Korean kimchi to London.

Kim & Chi kimchi will now be a featured item at the Monarchs stadium concessions. Plans are in the works to feature the Monarchs stars in advertisements for Kim & Chi kimchi. The ballplayers said that they are very excited to participate in the new marketing campaign. Jin-hwan Kim said, “Kim & Chi kimchi is just like the food I grew up with back in Ochon. It will be an honor to represent it.” Jae-hyung Chi said, “This is comfort food for me. It reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking back in Busan.”
