RF Wilton Rivera

"I had a really poor spring training but the manager said he couldn't care less if I went hitless in ST long as I didn't do it during the season".

Wilton Rivera may not have had the best of spring training but he's clicked into gear when it matters, a spring training hangover in the Opening Day 10-5 win over Jerusalem with only 1 hit in 5 visits to the plate he moved through the gears in a 6-2 win over the same opponents in the second game of the series.

Rivera gained his Player of the Game Award with a near carbon copy of José 'Flamethrower' Campos player of the game performance the day before, Rivera reached base on a single in the top of the 3rd of Jerusalem's starter Sherwood West a 4 pitch walk followed in the top of the 5th. Just like Campos did on Opening Day Rivera hit a solo home run this time in the 7th instead of Campos who got his in the 5th, the only difference between the performances was Campos got two singles were as Rivera managed to get on base when he was hit by a Wally Bowden pitch in the 9th.
