The second week of the Cedars 20 game road trip did not prove as fruitful as last week, but Beirut still managed 3 wins in 7 games this week. Beirut took 2 of three games in Cairo before getting swept in Manama. The Cedars did finish out the week with a win at Istanbul.

The BANC standings still show the Cedars clinging onto a half game lead with a record of 30 – 25. Bucharest is nipping at their heels at 29 – 25 and Mumbai is at 28 – 26. Jerusalem remained 4 games out of the lead at 26 – 29.

The players providing significant contributions during Week 8 were:
SP Abel Gibson – Earned his 5th win of the season while allowing 3 runs in 7 innings.
SP R.J. Hughes – Picked up 2 more wins this week while allowing 4 runs over 13 innings and striking out
CL Corbin Torres – Picked up his 14th save in his only appearance this week.
LF Pierre Cordona : Hit for a .389 average.Cranked out 3 HR and drove in 8 runs with a .400 average for the week
CF Maximo Quezada – Belted 3 homers and while batting .304 for the week.

The Cedars next stops are at Istanbul and Baghdad this coming week. The projected starter for Beirut wlll be Abel Gibson (5-3, 4.48 ERA).
