Dugout Dirt 2041.11 - Week 6 Summary

The Beirut home crowd this past week saw the Cedars sweep visiting Mumbai in a three game set. Beirut then on the road to Jerusalem where they went 1-2 against the hammers.

The BANC standings now have Bucharest at the top of the heap at 21 – 14 while Beirut is a game and a half back in second place at 20 – 16. Mumbai is currently in third at 18 -17 and Jerusalem is in fourth at 18 – 18. The Cedars put together a 7 game win streak before losing to the Hammers in the second game of their three game series at Jerusalem.

The players providing significant contributions during Week 6 were:
SP Ruben Nunez – Earned a win with an 8 inning day while allowing one run.
SP Henning Veenman – Also earned a win while allowing 2 runs in 8 innings.
CL Corbin Torres – Picked up two saves in two appearances while allowing1 run in 2 innings of work.
2B Chester Owens Had a homer and 5 RBI while batting .478.
1B Oliver Ruíz : Belted 3 HR with 9 RBI and a .333 average
CF Maximo Quezada : Added 2 HR while hitting at a .381 clip.

Next week includes the first three game set being at Bucharest before returning home to host Mumbai for three games. Next game’s projected starter for Beirut wlll be Francisco Ruiz (3-3, 5.45 ERA).
