Dugout Dirt 2041.2 - Cedars ink $5M deal with Antonio Baca

The Beirut front office has given an indication that they are going all-in for a pennant chase in 2041 with the signing of Antonio Baca. The third baseman come to terms with the Cedars by signing a $5M per year contract.
Antonio has a good glove and cannon arm like predecessor Tom Coulthard possesses. Although Antonio’s BBA numbers (.240 average with 7 HR’s in roughly 260 AB’s during the 2040 season) does not warrant the sizable contract, the Cedars do hope that his 7 contact rating and 6 home run rating will relate to much more production at the plate than Coulthard’s (.188 average with 10 HR;s in roughly 490 AB’s last season).
This acquisition may conclude Beirut’s activity on the position player side of the roster. The Cedar’s other moves at the plate included getting Arbitration deals with SS Martin Cooper (.279 average with 32 SB’s) and 2B Chester Owens (.304 average and 18 HR’s). This gives the Cedar faithful potentially 6 golden glove candidates at their 8 positions.
