38.03 (Cairo) - Owner Ryan Bond shrugs off BBA rejection of waiver claim, signs Aubrey Anderson

Outspoken owner Ryan Bond was unfazed when the BBA came calling and took back his new, shiny $9 Million Pitcher Manuel Pena last week... then went out and signed recently released OF Aubrey Anderson to a 2 year - $11.4 million deal.

"There's so much excitement in Cairo these day!! We've been able to give several old BBA players a 2nd chance at the spotlight!!", My Bond responded. "The team is playing great and we're continueing to look for players willing give us a chance here in Eqypt."

The Chariot Archers are riding a 16 game win streak and have opened a 12 game lead over Baghdad in the Burt League. Former Twin Cities Pitcher, Gonzalo Delgado, earned POTM for May, going 4-0 with a 0.89 ERA in 6 starts.

The Front Office is looking to put the brakes on the big spending spree by Owner Ryan Bond whose seems to be acting more and more like a Royal Family Prince. While the short term is looking all roses and flush with money, the team could be looking at closing in on the Salary Cap in 2041 as the players acquired in bargain bin start looking to be paid. Certainly, it's been a wild off-season and nice early start for Cairo, but experts are theorizing the future of the league when salaries start to even out.

In a couple of seasons, it might be not possible to sign players like Aubrey due to Payroll Constraints. However, with the upcoming Draft Class looking bleak, the BBA free agent market will continue to be main source of talent for the young UMEBA.

It may be several seasons down the road until the UMEBA becomes a talent feeder league for the BBA like it seems it was originally planned.

Until then, someone needs to take away Ryan Bond's debit card...

Hey, ship that card over to Mumbai - we could put it to good use.

Nice piece! Keep ‘em coming!
