The citizens of Istanbul celebrate the first UMEBA United Cup win.
Istanbul Bosphorus fans took to the streets in celebration of the Bosphorus winning their first ever UMEBA United Cup over the tough Bucharest Impalers.
First off the team bus to greet the revelers was United Cup MVP and 2036 JL Geoghan RD MVP 1B Kazuo Yamamoto. Kaz hoisted the Cup up high for all to see and the crowd erupted with a thunderous cheer.
Kaz stated, “That gave me goosebumps. I will never forget it. I am so happy to have been a part of a team that has brought happiness to this city with a championship.”
LF John Garcia, still feeling the effects of the flu that dogged him in the Cup Finals, stepped off the bus and sprayed the crowd with champagne from a giant bottle.
Garcia said, “This league has given guys like me that haven’t quite made it in the big leagues to continue to play. We can still perform and have great moments like this to share with our fans.”
But as the players and fans party into the night, General Manager James Walker sneaks off and heads for his office. He opens his freezer, grabs some chill rocks and drops them into his whiskey glass. He opens his Woodford Reserve and pours 2 fingers of the water of life into the glass. He took a sip and sat back in his chair. He smiled, fired up the old computer and got to work.
We have a championship to defend.
