ISTANBUL, TURKEY (Daily Sabah/Sam Fisher) --- Istanbul held a press conference today to announced their new AA level team that will play in the South America Baseball League, the Santiago Tabaqueros. The Tabaqueros will play their games in the Estadia de Santiago.

Ismael Rivera
Istanbul also announced they have finished their coaching staff for the UMEBA team for the 2041 season, signing both bench coach Mike Whannell & hitting coach Jeff Shaw. Shaw last coached 2038-2040 as the hitting coach for the Baghdad Kings. Mike Whannell has no coaching expierence. Whannell played from 2002 to 2012, while never making it higher then AAA ball.
On the player front, Istanbul signed free agent 24 year old left handed pitcher Ismael Rivera to a 1 year $750,000 contract. Rivera played last season for the Carolina Flight the AAA affiliate of the Chicago Black Sox of the BBA. He lead the team in ERA with a 4.24.
