With Istanbul's playoff hopes coming down to the final series of the season against the wildcard leader, their fate would be in their own hands. Could Istanbul sneak in to the playoffs for their fist appearance in franchise history or would the clock strick midnight and leave Istanbul outside looking in again?

Chariot Archers BC Stymie Istanbul, Take 4-1 Win
Tony Caraballo never let the Bosphorus get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Chariot Archers BC to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Caraballo, now 10-7. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. Cairo is now 74-86. Istanbul is 70-90.
Felipe Sánchez drove in one run for Cairo. The 27-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Bernardino Bertoletti. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
Caraballo attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

Bosphorus Get One-Run Win at Cairo
Istanbul rode a good effort from starter Vladimir Reichel to beat the Cairo Chariot Archers BC at Seventh Wonder Ball Park. The final score was 2-1. Bras Gesteiras earned his 37th save in 44 chances. Istanbul, now 71-91, holds third place in the Burt League.
It could have been a different outcome for Istanbul, had it not been for Bai-luo Jiu, the 29-year old first baseman . Jiu contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Istanbul up, 2-1.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Reichel said.
Unfortunately for Istanbul, they weren't able to take the bull by the horns when push came to shove. GM Jeffrey Everroad met with the media following the final season of the game.
"Want to thank all the players and staff for the good season. Apologize to the fans that we weren't able to get it done when push came to shove but here's hoping we can improve on the showing this year and come back even stronger for next season.
Everroad and Istanbul front office has alot of decisions to make in the upcoming months. Most of the front office personal are under contrcacts that expire at the end of this seaosn. Will Everroad keep them? Will Pete Withers get a chance to lead the team again? Will Istanbul look elsewhere?
Istanbul did announce this week that they have resigned pitching coach David Brown. Brown was the pitching coach in AAA Dar es Salaam. Rumor has it the plan is to move him up to Istanbul for the 2041 season.
