2040.02 - Correa leads Istanbul early in the season

It's been a slow start for the most of the UMEBA and that includes the Bosphorus. Through May 25th, Istanbul holds a 20-28 record, good for last in the Burt. Istanbul currently sits 3 games behind division leading Baghdad Kings.
Istanbul has been led offensively by 32 year old center fielder Héctor Correa. Correa is batting .295/.412/.422 with 16 stolen bases and WAR of 1.6. Istanbul is lead in the HR & RBI department by 35 year old catcher Luis Miguel Carrillo. Carrillo, who unfortunatly has struggled at the plate batting .186/.273/.378. But when he's made contact, it's been good, with 9HR and 26RBI.
Vladimir Reichel leads the pitching staff with a 2.78 ERA over 10 games started. Over those 10 games, he's compiled a 3-2 record with a 1.27WHIP. Along with Reichel, the other bright spot for the pitching staff is 33 year old Anastasio López who has a 2.87 ERA over 25 games.
19 year old Bert Hackworth who we listed as a player to watch before the season, has been moved to the rotation by manager Pete Withers. In the middle relief role he has compiled a 1-4 record with a 6.28EAR over 38.2 innings pitched.
Istanbul continues the season tomorrow in a home series vs Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers who are 2nd in the Bancroft division with a record of 28-20.
