After a dreadful start to the season, it was announced this week that there will be a change at the top of the orginazation. Out is Jeff Williams and in is new GM Jeffrey Everroad. We at the Bul-Pen sent our top reporter to see if this Mr. Everroad knew what he was getting himself into.
SAM FISHER: Good afternoon Mr. Everroad, Sam Fisher here with the Bul-Pen. Was wondering if I could ask you a few questions.
JEFFREY EVERROAD: Sure, anything for the local media. But please call me Jeffrey.
FISHER: Ok, Jeffrey. Was wondering what you thoughts were on Istanbul so far?
EVERROAD: Only been here a few days so far but it's beautiful city. As a hobby photographer, I've already seen plenty that's picture worthy.
FISHER: Yes it is a beautiful city. And not to bring the mood down but was wondering what your thoughts are on the baseball club?
EVERROAD: I must admit that I really not even sure how you pronounce the team name (laughs). I'm just a Indiana boy from a small Indiana town. (laughs again)
FISHER: It's pronounced bosopho-rus.
EVERROAD: I see, thank you. As for the team I know they aren't having a very good season. And I'm not sure what exactly happened with the last GM, other than him taking the barbwire down. (In a half laugh) Wondering if maybe I should put it back up.
FISHER: If you don't turn things around, putting it back up might not be a bad idea. (Laughs). So what do you see for this team in the near future?
EVERROAD: Unfortunately , as you know the UMEBA is tightly contested each year. There are alot of good teams in this league, so it'll be very hard to make a drastic improvement this season. But hopefully I can lead the team to a decent improvement with sights set on next season and beyond.
FISHER: Thanks for your time Jeffrey and best of luck to you this season and beyond.
EVERROAD: Thanks, got a lot of work to do but I think we can make a improvement.
Istanbul currently sits currently sits 19 games back from division leading Cairo Chariot Archers BC and 17 games back from the wildcard leading Manama Pearls.
Unfortunately the first week wasn't a very good one, going 1-5. While getting out scored 27-10. Guess on the bright side for Mr. Everroad, there really is no place to go but up. Hopefully the fans give him the time but the fans are getting restless having yet to see anything close to a .500 season, let alone a winning one.
