Top 5 Questions Facing the Manama Pearls for the 2045 Postseason- Questions Answered after Thrilling 7 Game Series with Beirut

1. Can Zuniga and Karto carryover their regular season success?
Not really, yet somehow the Pearls managed to escape. Zuniga only lasted 4 innings in his only start, although the team eventually won due to an offensive onslaught. Karto notched a quality start in Game 5 after he, too, did not reach the 5th inning in his Game 1 start. Karto heroically tried to come back on short rest in Game 7 but had to be removed in the 2nd inning.

2. Will the big three of Guerrer, Oh III, and Koka do enough damage to carry the offfensive load?
Since the Pearls ultimately took the series the answer here would have to be "Yes" Guerrer homered three times in the series, twice in one game, and hit .300 with 6 RBI to tie for the team lead in the series. Koka hit .365 with a couple of homers. Oh III was the weak link in the trio, while he did homer once, overall he hit just .241 with 2 RBI. 3B Jose Cortes came up big, hitting .355 with 3 stolen bases and his usual stellar glove work at the hot corner.

3. Is Edwin Harney ready for the big stage?
A resounding, "YES!!!" on this question. Until Game 7, Harney had only worked a clean inning for a save. But in Game 7 when Karto had to leave early, the Pearls boldly went to their designated closer in the 2nd inning! All Harney did was pick up the win after going 4.1 innings of one hit baseball, striking out four over 50 pitches. It remains to be seen if after that effort he will be available for Game 1 against Mumbai. Juan Jose Fuentes also threw 40 pitches in Game 7 so his availability in Game 1 could be in question as well, leaving the Pearls bullpen somewhat exposed.

4. Gary Schneider= X factor?
Schneider was mostly a non factor through 6 games and 4 innings. That was all erased when in Game 7 he came up with 2 on in the 5th inning and blasted a three run homer to give Manama the lead they would ultimately carry through to the 4-3 final score. X factor? He was probably the very definition of an X factor with that one swing of the bat.

5. Will the real Johan Trojka please stand up?
12 IP, 1 ER on a solo homer. Trojka would not speak to reporters after the series win, apparently miffed at his characterization in this very space. What was heard, however, was a blaring play of Eminem's "Will the real Slim Shady Please Stand Up?" while teammates showered him with a cocktail mixed with beer and champagne.
