With there not being that much change in the power rankings, I decided to change it a bit. I've gone with writing about players instead of teams.

125 72-41 .637
2nd (2nd) Tokyo Pearls
110 68-43 .613

4th (5th) Johannesburg Gold
102 62-51 .549
5th (6th) London Monarchs
92 61-52 .540
6th (4th) Sao Paulo Pilots
87 58-55 .513
7th (8th) Buenos Aires Brisas
78 48-64 .429
8th (10th) Moscow Thunder Bears
75 42-70 .375
9th (7th) Cairo Pharaohs

RF Ted Benson Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers.
GBC EA Batter of the Month Award.

LF José Márquez Sydney Sharks.
GBC ASAO Batter of the Month Award.

SP Wilson López Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers.
GBC EA Pitcher of the Month Award.

SP Aaron Bridges Johannesburg Gold. GBC ASAO Pitcher of the Month Award.

RP Marco Blenkhorn Athens Fighting Centaurs.
GBC EA Rookie of the Month Award.

LF Shamim Montazeri Sao Paulo Pilots. GBC ASAO Rookie of the Month Award.

His team may have gone 10-15 in the month of July but Marco Blenkhorn of the Athens Fighting Centaurs can hold his head up high with a 4-1 record, a 4-1 record as a middle reliever at that. His one defeat coming at the hands of none other than the Tokyo Pearls who ranked at 2nd in the power rankings at the time.

In his first game of the month he came up against the Cairo Pharaohs were he pitched 1.1 innings giving up 3 hits with no runs and striking out 1 in a 3-4 defeat.

His first win of the month came against the ever improving Moscow Thunder Bears were he pitched 2.2 innings giving up 1 hit and striking out 2 in a 3-2 extra innings (13) win, his next W came against the Tokyo Pearls giving up 1 hit and striking out 2 in 1.1 innings helping the Centaurs win 2-1

After getting a W against the 2nd ranked Pearls he went on to pitch 1 inning were he struck out 1 in a no decision against the London Monarchs in a 10-5 loss, he picked up a W against the 1st ranked Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers pitching 1.1 giving up his usual 1 hit and striking out 2 in a 5-3 win.

His next 2 games came on the road against the Tokyo Pearls, in his first game he gave up 2 hits and an earned run in 1.1 innings with the Centaurs going down 12-0, the second game whilst closer still ended up in an Athens defeat 6-5. Marco picked up that loss pitching 0.1 innings and giving up an earned run but surprisingly he walked 3 a little out of the ordinary as he'd only given up 3 walks in the previous 6 games.

His next 2 games he would come up against another tough opponent in the Johannesburg Gold, a win and a defeat for Athens. Blenkhorn picked up the W when the Centaurs won the first game 7-6 in which Marco pitched 1.2 innings giving up no hits, runs or walks, he didn't get a strike the second time in a row he hadn't managed a strike. In the second game the Centaurs lost 12-4 with Marco pitching in 1 inning giving up a couple of hits and an earned run whilst striking out 1.

His last game of the month came against the London Monarchs in which Athens lost 3-2, Marco did his best pitching 1.1 giving up no hits, no runs and striking out 1.

Marco Blenkhorn finished up pitching in 13.2 innings giving up 11 hits, 3 earned runs, 6 walks whilst striking out 13 batters in 10 games.

LF Nam-cheol U Tokyo Pearls.
GBC EA Player of the Week Award.

Nam-cheol had one of those weeks that he'll remember for years to come, specially with that player of the week award sitting on his shelf. Nam-cheol and the Tokyo Pearls started of with a series against the Moscow Thunder Bears, the Pearls had been going toe to toe with the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers.

Whilst Nam-cheol won the GBC EA player of the week award it was the heart of the order of Jamie Angwin (LF), Jules Le Gal (1B) and Michael Buckley (RF) who put the Thunder Bears to the sword in a 9-2 win. Langwin, Le Gal and Buckley collecting 2 hits apiece whilst Nam-cheol collected 1hit and 2 rbi. The second game was all Nam-cheol, while Buckley gained another 2 hits Nam-cheol had 4 hits 3 which were home runs, 4 runs, 4 rbi and a walk from 4 at bats in a 9-5 win for the Pearls. The final game of the series unlike the first Two ended in a nail biting 4-3 win with the Pearls sweeping the Bears, the Bears had learned there lesson with Nam-cheol . This time they cut down the damage he could do by walking him twice instead of letting him swing the bat like the previous game, he gained an hit in his two plate appears however came away without an rbi.

The next series the Pearls came up against the Athens Fighting Centaurs, whilst Athens were 10th in the power rankings, you wouldn't have thought so. The Pearls did win the first game 11-3 which was no surprise, with Nam-cheol racking up an hit and a walk. The 2nd and 3rd games in the series were a lot closer, in the 2nd with the Pearls taking 10-9 win with the help of Nam-cheol with his 3 hits, 2 of which were home runs which had him notch up 4 runs batted in. The last game was also a tight affair with Tokyo taking it 7-6 with the Pearls award winner gaining a multiple hit game with 3 hits another which was an home run his 6th in 5 games and 2 rbi.

His last game of the week came against the London Monarchs a 7-2 defeat, Nam-cheol punched his weight with another home run, the third game in a row he'd hit one over the fences. He finished the week with 14 hits, 7 home runs, 13 rbi and 4 walks and a player of the week award.

1B Jules Le Gal Tokyo Pearls.
GBC EA Player of the Week Award.

Whilst Le Gal and the Tokyo Pearls didn't really fire on all cylinders for the week, they both came away with honours. The Pearls took top spot in the power rankings with a 4-3 record and Le Gal with the GBC EA Player of the Week Award.

Jules and Tokyo started there week against the London Monarchs, over 27,000 fans packed into Manama Fields the home ballpark of the Pearls. It wasn't the start that Le Gal and Tokyo wanted a heavy 7-2 defeat and all though Jules got on base twice he never troubled the fielders as he relied on walks for his two on base appearences. The second game against the Monarchs, Tokyo for there revenge with an easy 9-2 win done without there star 1B man due to bring rested by manager Tiljad Mwarania. The third game of the series was a closer game than the previous 2 with Tokyo prevailing 12-9, whilst Le Gal missed the previous game and didn't get an hit in the first he put all that behind him in the third game of the series. The rest have the 1B a new lease of life as he had 3 hits all 3 of them nestling in the bleachers for 3 home runs, the 1st was a solo home run, the 2nd was a 2 run home run with Matthew Ewing getting on base and finally the 3rd a walk off 3 run home run to not only win the game but to finish a star line of 5 at bats 4 runs 3 hits and 6 runs batted in.

The second series of the week was a dog eat dog affair on the road against the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers, the Pearls and Hammers had been going toe to toe pretty much all season. In the 1st and 2nd games the Hammers had the advantage and took it, winning the 1st 9-5 and the 2nd a closer scoreline of 8-7, it seemed as though Le Gal had left his favourite bat in Tokyo as he didn't get a hit or even on base in either of the first two games. However the last two of the series were a different matter both for the Tokyo Pearls and Jules Le Gal, in the third game of the series a nail biter. Le Gal sprang back into action helping the Pearls to a 7-5 Win with 2 rbi from 3 hits. Whilst the last game was a close game the fourth game of the series was a one sided match up, Le Gal helping the Pearls to a 9-1 demolishing of the Hammers with Le Gal picking up 1 home run and 4 runs batted in of 2 hits.

1B Jehan Knutson Athens Fighting Centaurs.
GBC EA Player of the Week Award.

3B Devidasa Joardar Cairo Pharaohs.
GBC ASAO Player of the Week Award.

The Cairo Pharaohs have been slumping all season and are unaccustomed to the lowly position they are in, the glory years maybe in the rear view mirror but there were glimpses of better days ahead. Those better days are centred around players like Devidasa Joardar, Joardar in his rookie season as more than impressed in his 123 games mostly at 3B.

He more than deserved his GBC ASAO Player of the Week Award, with some saying it should have come sooner. The week started like most weeks before for the Cairo Pharaohs going 1-2 against the Sao Paulo Pilots, the first a 4-1 defeat in which Joardar picked up an hit. The Pharaohs and Joardar turned it around in the second with the Pharaohs taking the game 8-5 hitting one over the fences amongst a couple of hits, 2 rbi and a walk. Whilst in the third game Cairo dropped back to losing ways Devidasa picked up 3 hits with an rbi.

Cairo lost another in the first game against the Tokyo Pearls, going down 4-6. Joardar carriered on his hitting streak and his rbi streak with one of each, in the second game both Cairo and Joardar improved with Cairo collecting the W and Joardar a couple of home runs from 2 hits scoring 4 rbi in a 6-2 win. It was Back to back wins in the third game of the series, this time the Pharaohs winning 7-5 again on the back of Devidasa Joardar hitting another home run from 3 hits whilst knocking on 2 rbi.

The last game of the week ended in a 6-2 defeat against the improving Johannesburg Gold, Joardar carried on his hit streak with his 12th & 13th of the week in 7 games with 4 home runs and 10 rbi.

But of a dip, 59 wins this season whilst averaging over 100 the previous 4 years.
