Jerusalem, Israel
**********************************
Amid all the discussion of the UMEBA, there is a playoff race that emerged in the BURT League. While Baghdad (5.5 GB) and Jerusalem (7 GB) can still technically catch the Beirut Cedars, it's getting more and more likely that the Cedars will end the season at the top of the BURT league. But there is a battle behind them for the BURT WC.
As mentioned, and shown below, Baghdad is up 1.5 games on Jerusalem. So let's dig in a little:
Both teams face Beirut in the final 1.5 months of the season (as you would expect). BUT, Baghdad faces the Cedars 6 times with 3 games at home and 3 on the road. Jerusalem will face off with the leader 10 times...but 7 of those 10 are at home with 3 in Beirut. Jerusalem does have 2 games in hand on Baghdad with 37 games to play to Beirut's 35.
And here is where the baseball gods take over: to close out August, Jerusalem visits Baghdad for a 3-game set; then, oh boy, the teams close out the season facing each other in a 3-same series in Jerusalem. Will there still be any drama at that point? My guess is yes as I think Beirut clinches the BURT. Thoughts?

Should be interesting.
I'm betting on Jerusalem.

I think if one through four were reversed it would be a less surprising outcome in 2047. Jerusalem I can't figure out. The team can pitch and hit, and yet...
The bullpen, if you were just looking at the player ratings, you would say is a strength, but it's so bad.

I changed my mind.
Baghdad. (8-2 last 10 vs Hammers 2-8).

I remembered this post while working on my bullpen and you're right on. With the ratings these guys have, their production is just terrible. And it's not like I can reload the Pen with better pitchers as I couldn't find better ratings and, given the dumpster fire that has continued into 2048, I'm not sure what impact it would be.mragland wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 10:38 amI think if one through four were reversed it would be a less surprising outcome in 2047.
