UMEBA: Blowouts(FUBAR), Blowups, and walk offs Sim 18

Post by HerbD » Fri Jul 24, 2020 8:39 am

This column is soon to be renamed Jerusalem's sim results. Maybe someone should look into that.

July 28, 2043
Baghdad 28 Jerusalem 6 BLOW OUT
Four different position players pitched for the Hammers compared to just three players that are listed as pitchers on the team's roster. Three walks given up by the pitchers while the position players gave up 10. The Kings took advantage scoring 28 runs on just 23 hits including five homers. SEVEN Baghdad players had multiple hits in the game.

July 29, 2043
Jerusalem 2 Istanbul 15 BLOW OUT
The Hammers took their sad show on the road and the result was pretty much the same. This time it was actual pitchers that gave up all of the runs. The Bosphorus' Adam Backhouse was a homer away from the cycle but he did manage four hits and five RBI. Jerusalem leadoff man Bell started the game with a homer but it was all Istanbul from there.

July 30, 2043
Jerusalem 2 Istanbul 14 BLOW OUT
This game was actually tied at two runs each until the bottom of the seventh inning when Istanbul would put up six runs and take over from there. Adam Backhouse would record his second consecutive five RBI game as yet another position player for the Hammers was introduced to the art of pitching in the UMEBA.

Bucharest 7 Libyan 8 WALK OFF
The Impalers would take a 7-6 lead in the top of the ninth Esparza homer. It looked as if Bucharest would score a bigger inning having the bases loaded and just one out but a 9-2 double play ended the inning and the threat. In the bottom of the inning Membeila slammed a game tying homer with one out setting up Alonso's walk off homer one out later.

July 31, 2043
Jerusalem 4 Istanbul 24 BLOW OUT
Five position players took the mound today for Jerusalem allowing half of the 24 runs scored by the Bosphorus. 22 hits and 14 bases on balls was the damage today as the Hammers are on a historic streak of futility allowing at least 14 runs in nine consecutive games(all losses) including 20+ runs in five of those games.

Mumbai 2 Manama 3 13 INN WALK OFF
A two out homer by Sherman in the bottom of the 13th inning won the game for the Pearls. Thomas' first homer of the season tied the game in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings. Lozano and McKinna each collected three hits for the home team while Oliveraz had three for the visitors.

August 1, 2043
CSKA 15 Cairo 2 BLOW OUT
They were seven runs deep in the top of the first inning when the Red Army found out they were not playing in Jerusalem. They would still go on to add eight more runs in the game for the blow out win. CSKA had a wild top of the first that included seven runs on just four hits(2 singles, a double, and a bases loaded triple), 2 BB, 2 HBP, 2 WP, and a balk in a start that Fraser Pond would surely like to forget.

August 3, 2043
CSKA 5 Manama 6 10 INN WALK OFF
Pedrulo's 18th home run of the season was the game winner in the bottom of the tenth as the Pearls won their second walk off of the sim. Manama played small ball in the bottom of the ninth to score three runs and tie the game at five to force the extra frame.

Athens 1 Baghdad 2 10 INN Walk OFF
Tied 1-1 with one out Morales was thrown out attempting to steal third base on the first pitch to Tannen in the bottom of the tenth inning. Tannen shrugged it off and deposited the next pitch in the stands for his 20th homer and a walk off win for the Kings. Each team managed just one run in the first nine innings as the starters were sharp.
Montreal Blazers(BBA) 2044~2047(353-295, .545 W%)
2045 Wildcard(lost in one round)
2046 Atlantic Champs(lost in one round)

I don’t know who any of these people are but yay my team. Also makes me sad to see Jerusalem in such rough shape.
