The Walkoff Watch Terminology

Balkoff - When a pitcher balks in the winning run.

Derpoff - When a pitcher walks in the winning run, hits a batter with the bases full, or the winning run scores due to a wild pitch or error.

200-proof walkoff - When the home team scores in the bottom of a previous inning to extend the game and then scores with a walkoff in a subsequent inning.

Buntoff When the team bunts in the walkoff run.

Pimpoff - When the home team scores a walkoff following the visiting team tying the game to cause extra innings (or more extra innings) or scoring what would have been the winning run if the home team hadn’t responded.

Bunt-Pimpoff A pimpoff, but when the batter successfully bunts home the walkoff run.

Player & Team Highlights Sim #9
May 25th-June 2nd

Again the UMEBA sides were keen to get business done early, only seven of the 24 games saw any runs in the ninth innings and only one went to extra innings. Again, unfortunately none of these runs that counted were in the bottom of the ninth, meaning for the second sim of 2041 we have no walkoffs. Honourable mentions must go though to Baghdad, who despite being without a walkoff in 2041 set themselves up twice in successive days to achieve a pimpoff but failed both times. On the 30th of May the Kings entertained Jerusalem and scored five times in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at six sending the game into extras. Unfortunately our old friend Lucas Meech was on the mound in the top of the 10th and gave up what proved to be the winning run. The following day Baghdad scored three in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at four as once more the Hebrew Hammers surrendered a big lead. Again Meech failed his team, he gave up the winning run in the top of the ninth and again the Kings couldn’t respond in the last chance saloon.
