The Walkoff Watch Terminology

Balkoff - When a pitcher balks in the winning run.

Derpoff - When a pitcher walks in the winning run, hits a batter with the bases full, or the winning run scores due to a wild pitch or error.

200-proof walkoff - When the home team scores in the bottom of a previous inning to extend the game and then scores with a walkoff in a subsequent inning.

Pimpoff - When the home team scores a walkoff following the visiting team tying the game to cause extra innings (or more extra innings) or scoring what would have been the winning run if the home team hadn’t responded.

Player & Team Highlights Sim #3

At least the UMEBA batters are finally hitting some runs in the ninth innings this sim, 12 runs were scored in the ninth during the 23 games this sim (Mumbai had two rainouts, only one was made up). Unfortunately for The Walkoff Watch, 10 of those were in the top of the ninth innings leaving us with just two in the all important bottom of the 9th. Big shoutout to Mumbai who scored in the bottom of the 9th against Jerusalem to tie the game at four. That set up the chance of the Metro Stars second successive Pimpoff but they couldn’t convert and eventually lost in 11 innings. The other run in the bottom of the 9th was scored by Bagdad but it was inconsequential as the Kings were already 7-3 down. Four games were won in extras but all of them in the top half of innings.
