The Walkoff Watch Terminology

Balkoff - When a pitcher balks in the winning run.

Derpoff - When a pitcher walks in the winning run, hits a batter with the bases full, or the winning run scores due to a wild pitch or error.

200-proof walkoff - When the home team scores in the bottom of a previous inning to extend the game and then scores with a walkoff in a subsequent inning.

Pimpoff - When the home team scores a walkoff following the visiting team tying the game to cause extra innings (or more extra innings) or scoring what would have been the winning run if the home team hadn’t responded.

Player & Team Highlights Sim #2

Boy, these UMEBA bullpens are lights out at the moment, 48 games into the 2041 season and virtually all you hear in the bottom of the 9th is the loud smack of leather and the shout of ”Strike !”. In the bottom of the 9th so far this season UMEBA teams have scored just six runs, two of those led to a walkoff last sim, and three didn’t matter at all this sim.

Outcomes

If you were playing attention to that little preamble and doing your maths, you’ll have noticed that there’s one 9th inning run unaccounted for. Smart people! The unaccounted run was scored in the bottom of the 9th on April 7th, providing the only walkoff of sim #2.
United Cup holders Jerusalem were in Mumbai, in the top of the 9th Hebrew Hammers catcher Antonio Robles sent the ball over the fences to tie the game at three. In the bottom of the 9th Jerusalem sent Simon Bamber to the mound for his second outing of 2041. His first didn’t go too well, he coughed up three runs without an out. A double and a walk soon had Bamber staring at the winning run 90’ away. Backup SS Randolph Webber stepped into the batters box for his first AB of the season. He took a ball, fouled two off and . . .
Sent the ball past the despairing dive of his opposite number into left field. The winning run scooted home and we had the first Pimpoff of 2041

I like reading these. The Beirut bullpen has given up 25 runs (24 earned) in 38.2 innings pitched to date for all innings. Something tells me that it is just a matter of time before some of those come in the 9th … at least for Beirut.

Hell yeah, Randolph.

His 3 Contact and 2 Power makes this all the more remarkable.
 They say it don't be like it is, but it do!
