into 3rd place. This ain't no Cinderella story, folks.
However... I, your humble correspondent from the front lines of the UMEBA battlefield (who is in no way affiliated with Manama, or its owner, despite sharing an account on this forum) will take this opportunity to praise said owner (sjshaw) to the heavens for his indomitable spirit and impassioned... nay, awe-inspiring leadership in the face of a complete malaise that had engulfed the Manama clubhouse prior to his highly-leveraged Bain Capital-style acquisition of the distressed asset... err, ballclub.
"I'd run through a brick wall for that guy (sjshaw)," said stopper Juan Pagan, "but then, I'm kind of a nimrod and run into walls on the regular like the Kool-Aid man, so maybe that's not quite the endorsement it's intended to be."
Pagan could be considered the mascot for this band of cast-offs (technically, he is also the mascot, per the insanely one-sided contract he signed in the offseason). He's a submarine left-handed relief pitcher who throws a fastball, curveball, and slider, but not a changeup. He makes no sense.
Neither does the fact that Manama is in 3rd place.

Heh...
But, hey, Rook, you might maybe wanna make these Manama specific things Team News in the future rather than UMEBA features.
