HOF Talk: Quant Kouros

The Greek Freak played for nine franchises during his twenty-one seasons. He stole 929 bases, or 970 if you want to count the post season. That’s really his calling card.
Sure he’s got 2,500 hits, but that’s not a big number for a guy who didn’t plow homers. His career wOBA is a very nice .346, but that comes from the doubles and triples, of which he had many. But he is #68 in all-time doubles and #88 in all-time triples. Those aren’t gaudy ranks. So, really, we’re talking stolen bases while playing mostly 1B, a position traditionally patrolled by thumpers. And stolen bases are a very hard sell here in BBA Land. Zebediah Willams stole 1,185 of them back in the old days, and isn’t in the Hall. Dash Kelly had 1,097. Not in the Hall. Anthony Walker. 990. You get the flow.
Kouros had a profile, though.
Maybe 929 will be enough. I’m not thinking it will, though.
On the other hand, his 47 WAR passes the Dusty Rhodes line by a Greek Mile, so what do I know?
