HOF Talk: Gary Allen

The man won four Pucketts, a Ziimmer at 3B, and was a postseason MVP.
Despite this, when I first saw his name on the ballot, I was struck by a big gaping emptiness. I mean, I recognized that I should recognize the name, but I just couldn’t really place it. Hawaii, I thought. Maybe. Hawaii, right? Well, that was right. Gary Allen broke in with the Tropics, had some of his best years there before going Free Agent and becoming a staple with Charm City. Five years later he had arguably his best year ever in Boise.
He's got some big counting numbers. Like most of the guys here. And 50 WAR at 3B is not an easy get. It would put him well above the Dusty Rhodes line, anyway (which is a phrase you can past into pretty much all these guys entries from here on out).
Still, I’m tending to say no.
