# A true late bloomer, Winson played a grand total of 21 BBA games before his 27th birthday, Winson nevertheless managed to burn incredibly brightly, putting up a JAWS score just a hair below the average for all HOF 3B, and winning back to back Silk honors following a trade to Charm City. Winson paired a great batting eye with all-time power, a combination that propelled him to the top of the league and earned him many many dollars over the course of his career.

This is a tough one. He dominated for 5-6 years, but doesn't have the career numbers because he didn't break in until he was 26.

Better-than-average glove at 3B until his last three BBA seasons. Throw in a Geoghegan Round MVP Award, as well. I'm leaning "YES".

I'm not sure what to do with Winson. I agree with Brendon. But his career is short on both ends. Do two Silks equal three Nebraskas?

unlike LaLoosh, Winson has career numbers in some areas that match or exceed his potential HOF peers, so his case is not solely award dependent.

I can't believe he's not in yet. Winson was such a gigantic name during his playing career, insanely dominant for five years, and earned a freaking fortune.

I'm kind of there, but then I think about how few 3B and in the hall, and I'm kind of like "F it. He's a 60 WAR 3B who was maybe the most feared guy in the league for 4 seasons, and pretty damn good for another five." I'll vote for him this time. I think. I get the hesitance.

He was so good. Arguably the best player in the league in a time Gillstrom was in his prime. As mentioned before, also a strong of 3B in the JL in his prime and he still won a couple Puckett's. Didn't bump until late. Come on guys.

Winson vs noboru was quite the battle at JL 3B for a good chunk of the 30s (with gillstrom in there for a few years as well before expansion moved him over to the FL).

2031-2037 in the JL. Winson had an OPS over .900 in 2035 and 36 (91games). Noboru was just a little better those yes. For as much as Winson gets some flack for falling off, and I think it has to do with his contract more than anything, he had an OPS of .944 in 2040. That was his last year getting at least strong side platoon AB's over a full season.

I mean to me, he is a slam dunk. Randy, I remember you, Ted, and maybe Lane declaring him the winner of every award, Nebraska included. That's how good he was.

Guy started playing full time at age 27 and still has damn near 500 homers and over 60 WAR.

Still has 10 power as a retiree.

Good for counting folks, good for WAR folks, good for peak years folks.

Why is this even a question?

Yeah, I don't care about the HOF. But still.

31 players in league history have won the Silk 2 or more times. By my count (which I admit could be wrong by missing a name or something), Martín Félix and Winson appear to be the only retired players not in the HOF. The others not in are current players.
