# A long-time stalwart of the Yellow Springs Nine rotation during their glory days under GM Ron Collins (along with his fellow nominee Lawrence Columbus LaLoosh), Chavez produced for a long-time and is a near lock for the Yellow Springs team HOF. Pitching until age 36 before wrapping up his career in the UMEBA, I am sure Mr. Collins can espouse far more about the virtues of Chavez than this lowly scribe can, but he truly had a very nice career and is worthy of a look on the ballot.

He actually compares to LaLoosh fairly well. But when guys like this don't have the counting stats, I need to see more major awards than 1. And that's why I will vote LaLoosh but not Chavez.

I love Jose Chavez, and I will 100% vote for him. But unlike LaLoosh, I have a hard time going to the mat for him and I see his numbers for what they are. His big injury really hamstrung him, and in the end his peak wasn't as startling as LaLoosh. One Nebraska makes him a local hero, a YS9 HoFer, and all sorts of other stuff. I'm guessing he'll be a YS9 pitching coach fairly soon.

At his absolute peak, though, Jose Chavez was one of the two greatest pitchers I've ever had in OOTP ... right behind a legendary Kyle Faller @sjshaw. Knowing he was going to the mound that season or two was enough to make me anticipate every sim. The day he was injured that first time was a deeply dark day in the Collins household.

I'm getting lazy on these.
