Kharlamov's case is interesting. It's sometimes easy to forget how good he was in his youth because he stuck around so long as an older player. He was sublime in the early days with Indy, posting a couple 7+ WAR seasons. His glove was dazzling, and the bat flashy. Injuries and age wore him down, but not so much he couldn't make an impact with the Pikemen during peak Rockville years. 68.4 WAR would seem to make "the Ankle" a lock--but admittedly those 68 were created over 21 years, and admittedly the Standard Scores don't all pop. I would expect name recognition won't hurt the case at all.
Regardless, this is a solid baseball player, and a name that was infused with the era he played in.
