# Soriano was the consummate switch hitting lead-off guy, always on base and ready to steal (currently #6 all-time). He broke in with some pretty great teams in Indy, then proceeded to Calgary to anchor a long series of great teams there, along the way flashing gold and diamonds. A scan of his HoF Standards say he'd be a solid addition to the club. Of course, there are some who say they can't consider him because of that day he forgot to help the little old lady across the street and ... well ... that's just not going to cut it.

9th in league history with 3314 hits, 6th with 948 SB, #1 with 395 HP (132 more than #2), 10th in triples, pretty good career stats.

Pretty amazing that he won only 1 Zimmer and was a +91 ZR player in CF. Even in his late 30s, he was still a solid defender.

I'm not a big fan of accumulators normally, but I have to say, his longevity was impressive.

A perfect non-sabermetric guy. He passes the eye test.

I was frankly shocked how little 3314 hits meant to the voters last year.

Soriano received 70% of the vote last year. So he was very close. He has six more seasons remaining on the ballot.

It's tough not having a history in this league to try and discern worthy players, but this one feels like a gimme.

You'll catch on quickly. Or at least enough to fake everyone into thinking you have. ;)
