Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Hunter Eisenhower

Post by RonCo » Mon Nov 19, 2018 11:04 am

Here's the place to talk about the career of:

Hunter "Boogie" Eisenhower
Image
Third Base

Active Career: 2019-2036 (18 seasons)
2450 hits, 402 HR, 1340 RBI, .275/.365/.470 75.2 WAR
Landis Winner (2028 - Huntsville)
7-Time Charles Pucket Golden Bat
6-Time All-Star

Hall of Fame Metrics: (average HoF)
JAWS: 60.8 (60)
Black Ink: 3 (23)
Gray Ink: 81 (109)
HOF Standards: 52 (53)
HOF Monitor: 63 (126)
# Perhaps the most interesting question is whether Eisenhower would go into the Hall wearing a Huntsville cap (where he helped win a Landis, and where he had his peak) or a Las Vegas cap, where he broke in. Boogie was one of the more feared right handed bats in the league for several years. His HoF standards show he'd pretty much fit in with the league-average HoF guy, though he's down a touch in the Inks.

lol... Posted within a minute of each other.

I'll vote for him. But I completely understand why others will think he doesn't quite match up.

He owned Third Base in the Johnson for 8 straight seasons

I'm sure he'll be a yes on my ballot. Interested to see Chris's view of him in the pantheons. :)

I don't think he's a SLAM DUNK. Though I think he'll get in.

My guess is he's in, but it might take a ballot or two.

5.5 seasons during his career peak and a Landis win in HSV. Gotta assume a real life Boogie would choose us to go in with once he's finally - and rightfully - elected.

Not a slam dunk. Good but not great. Gets to wait on my ballot. Voted for 7 guys, he didn’t make the cut. Maybe in a different year.

Man, I would love to know the 7 names you had above Eisenhower. The guy was probably the best 3B in the league for an entire decade.
