Hall of Fame Discussion Thread: Emilio Rodriguez

Post by RonCo » Mon Aug 27, 2018 7:46 pm

Here's the place to talk about the career of:

Emilio "Sunshine" Rodriguez
Image
Center Field

Active Career: 2016-2034 (19 seasons)
2457 hits, 486 HR, 1459 RBI, .295/.331/.539 73.3 WAR
Landis Champion 2031
Joe Gilstrom ROY: 2018
7-Time Charles Pucket Golden Bat
3-time Zimmer Diamond Glove
11-Time All-Star

Hall of Fame Metrics: (average HoF)
JAWS: 60.7 (57)
Black Ink: 12 (22)
Gray Ink: 160 (105)
HOF Standards: 53 (53)
HOF Monitor: 156 (123)
# Numbers look a lot like Jorge Rodriguez, but with three fewer Zimmers and spread out over a lot more teams. His peak might have even have been better than Rodriguez's, but maybe more brief?

Sunshine was also a superior defender in CF. Well, up until 2028.

He's got my vote.

Seems to stack up well with other CF's in the HOF.

14 more homers and I think he's a solid yes.

Gonna be close otherwise. Depends on how the ballot is done. Spreadsheet version he doesn't make it. If votes are just yes votes on who gets in, he'll be close. He's a guy it all depends on who's on the ballot with him. I think he's a no for me though.

The combination of Pucketts and Zimmers makes his standard tests look pretty good. I'm going to have to take some of my copious free time to look into how OOTP is doing the Standard tests.
