Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Bertram Hahn

Post by RonCo » Wed Mar 11, 2020 3:56 pm

Here's the place to talk about the career of:

Bertram Hahn
(First Base)
Active Career2028-2041 (15 seasons)
Key Stats.252/.369/.476, 349 HR, 951 RBI, 119 OPS+, 23.7 WAR
AwardsLandis Champion (3), Puckett (1), Comeback (1)
Hall of Fame Metrics:
CategoryScoreAvg HoF
Hof Monitor38128
# I hate Bertram Hahn. This is the guy whose late game HR sent the Nine home minus one Landis. FOr that alone he has become He Whom Shalt Not Be Voted For. I suggest you join me in my vigil. If you get a little tired of the protest, you can always use the special La-Z Boy Recliner that is never more than a short sprint from anywhere Hahn happens to be.

Bottom line: Bertram Hahn was a highly under-appreciated hitter in his time, but will anyone seriously mistake him for a Hall of Famer?

I guess we'll find out.

One of those guys that was just good enough to get on the ballot, but it's going to be a short stay.
