Hall of Fame Candidate Thread: Dillon Young

Post by RonCo » Sun Sep 22, 2019 4:41 pm

Here's the place to talk about the career of:

Dillon 'Snow God' Young
(Relief Pitcher)
Active Career2023-2039 (17 seasons)
Key Stats79-90, 410 Saves, 3.76 ERA, 3.56 FIP, 1,183 K/1,009 IP
Hall of Fame Metrics:
CategoryScoreAvg HoF
Hof Monitor88130
# Young is the definition of what it means to say "dependable bullpen ace." He spent most of his career with Montreal, holding down the fort for one of the better teams in the league during that time. His lack of major awards, his role as a relief pitcher, and a moderate set of HoF Metrics would tend to suggest he'll have a 1-season stay on the ballot, but (1) I cold be wrong, and (2) it's still fun to remember the guy.
Yellow Springs Nine
Playoff Regular, Landis Averse

He may not get in the Hall of Fame, but he’ll always be Snow God - and that ain’t nothin’.
