How many teams would take that contract though? If Des Moines retains money, than I can see a bigger haul. But I don't see a lot of teams getting in a bidding war for him.

Re: 2058.6 Deadline Breakdown
I like the moves as a whole. Des Moines was stuck in a spot where they were locked into a lot of long term deals that prevented them from getting better. So without even getting into returns. Offloading Perrano and Woo were probably moves that had to be made. It's really hard to get rid of contracts...

Re: 2058, BBA Awards Voting Chatter
So far the wildest result I'm seeing is Luis Gonzalez is only in fourth place for FL Reliever of the Year. I also think Renato should be getting more love for FL GM of the Year. I think what hurts him is the 13 losses. Maybe that's unfair because it's only 50% his fault with the other 50 being an o...

Thanks for doing this. All I’ll say is anything can happen in the playoffs. I wish you the best of luck. I always root for the underdog and I kind of hate myself for being such a heavy favorite here. Id much rather being playing a Bears team that had McNeil, Smith, Schultz and Swanson. But ultimate...

Barney Lindsey has two losses this season. He lost one game and the Nebraska Award. Both were at the hands of Bernie Stuart.

Re: My First Game (I’m Pretty Sure)
My first game was a one hitter . -The only hit was by Tony Gwynn of course. -There was a rain delay to start game. Padres played the game under protest because it wasn't even raining. -My favorite player(Keith Hernandez) hit a homerun. -Gregg Jeffries missed a cycle by a single in his 2nd day after ...

Bikini would be scary in a short series. In a year that I'm going to go very traditional, Bikini could beat me at my own game if they can sneak in.

Re: GM Change, Athens Fighting Centaurs
Athens looks like fun. Last place, highest payroll, fewest prospects. All minor league teams with a winning percentage under .180.... Burn that thing down and mold it into your own.
Or if I win the Brewster this year, I'll switch with you.

Re: Quick question
I view control(combined with stamina) as consistency. You can have an 11/11/3 rating with 2 stamina and that guy is going to dominate the first batter or two and then fall apart due to a high pitch count and tiring quickly. Meanwhile a 9/8/9 pitcher with 10 stamina will probably do much better over ...

I like to process this list a little differently. Since there are 32 teams in the league.... 1-32 is a number one starter 33-64 is a number 2 starter 65-96 is a number 3 starter So using Twin Cities.... Stuart(9) is a top third #1 Starter Takuda(21) is a mid to bottom third #1 Starter Crutcher(54) a...

Re: 2058.61 Flight Log Trade Deadline Recap
I'm not going to kill the trades because I love when teams actually try hard to win. But I would have held on to McNeil and built around him, Bates, Ruiz, Natta, Christian, Gonzalez, and some other guys you have in a deep farm system. The parade of corner outfielders that left is ok cause you have e...

Re: Slugger Shavings 2058.4 - Checking in with Alfredo Garcia (unfortunately not Yoshii Takuda)
I kinda feel bad that this trade went south for you. At the time, Takuda was someone that wasn't putting it all together and was only signed for a season and a half. I really had no clue that he'd play this well or that he would sign a dirt cheap 3 year extension. Going the other way was Farthing, w...

You need to lock him up. If he hits free agency at 24, someone is going to give him $20+ million a season for 6 years.
