That's What Cheesehead: 06.12 - April Review

O ne month down, six months to go (yes, I'm counting October. Chew on that division rivals!) At 20-7, the Wolves completed the first month with the best record in the Johnson League and are tied with the Las Vegas Hustlers for the best record in the entire MBWBA. While most of the Johnson League se...

That's What Cheesehead: 06.11 - Sim #3 Review

T he Wolves rolled through yet another sim, going 7-2 including a 6-2 run against the Frick League in the club's first taste of interleague action for the season. The highlight of the sim was three late inning wins by the Wolves. The first one came against Birmingham when the club scored a run in t...

Wolves go 7-2 and keep on keeping on.

Had 3 injuries that sim. Super backup, and man I was trying to give more PT Jaiden France, went down for 2 months creating a huge hole for me with back up infielders.

Re: That's What Cheesehead: 06.10 - Minor Leagues Go All-In

How many of those guys signed 30-day minor league contracts, though? I feel like several of those guys wanted one.... To my knowledge, they all signed full season deals. During the free agency period, most wanted either major league deals or minor league deal with a ML option. But once the season s...

That's What Cheesehead: 06.10 - Minor Leagues Go All-In

N ot only will the big league club in Madison be going for a championship, but so will the Wolves minor league club's. On April 13, GM Chris Wilson announced a slew of minor league deals that will hopefully boost the franchise's chances at winning multiple championships this season. Thursday, April...

A t 13-5 overall, the Wolves are off to the best record in the Johnson League through the small period of play thus far. The Wolves were a solid 6-3 this sim, which wound up being the third best record in the division after both Phoenix and Omaha both went 7-2. The highlight of the sim for Madison ...

Edwin Pyburn for Free

Somehow or another I went over the cap last sim despite not making any moves other than minor league deals.... So I'm offering Edwin Pyburn up for pretty much free. I'll take a bottom feeder prospect just to make it a "trade" but it can be your worst prospect. Pyburn isn't terrible. Isn't great. He'...

Like they say, you've got to be an awfully good pitcher to lose that many games. :crazylaugh: :crazylaugh: :crazylaugh: That is my all-time favorite snarky sports cliche. Re: 2006 Insanely Early Predictions

I was just about to do this feature today - great job! Sorry about that. I knew it used to be done from time to time in this league and back in the ORB2 and GUBA. I dug back through the league features and noticed it hadn't been done in a few seasons here (unless I overlooked it) so I decided to do...

2006 Insanely Early Predictions

T en days are in the books in the 2006 season and the sample size dictates that some players are on pace for some record breaking seasons. In fact, the stats suggest that nearly EVERY record in the league is on pace to be broken in the 2006 season. Let's take a look at all the records that are abou...

T he 2006 season is now in full swing and the Wolves are off with a hot start. A 7-2 initial sim of the season has placed the Wolves a full 3 games up on the division rival Phoenix to start the year. Whitley's hit streak ended at 35, securing Aguilar's record for a little while longer.

Though, would Whitley's record really have counted considering it was over the course of 2 seasons.....?

Worst GM in the league????? :orly: All-Time Manager Leaderboards Most of those are CPU managers. Among GMs with at least 1,000 games under their belt my .452 W% is the worst...although looking at the numbers again I may have overlooked Jason Russell. Irony. I assume I have one of the better winning...

Re: Moonshiner's Monitor, 2006 update: Greenville bets on Bl

Is this the year Baltimore's reign on the division ends? No heh! A lot of the so-called "bottom teams" made quite a few moves this off-season. Greenville and Louisville both made moves in your division. The FL Midwest, which I previewed, had a lot of changes made. Hawaii has made moves in the Pacif...

It looks like we aren't going to get a bunch of league/team previews this season, so how about just a quick poll of the owners. Project the standings and award winners of each league here....
