Re: 2034, Sim #23 Chatter

Francisco Ruiz bumped for the bumpteenth time despite being on the DL for the last month. He has gone from 3 control to 7 in just 18 months.

Re: 9-News: 34.081 – McQuade Takes Charge

I figure he'd get $8-$10M, but I'm a bit cheap, I suppose. If a team needed him, they'd pay more. That said, the Ernesto Chavez deal was probably doomed from the start. $8-10 is probably about as far as I would go too. But in an open market there may be a lunatic team or maybe someone is one piece ...

Re: 9-News: 34.081 – McQuade Takes Charge

If McQuade hits the market, he is going to get paid BIG. -he'll just be 26 -is extremely popular -is a team leader -plays very good to elite defense(depending on where you play him) -can hit decent enough -this free agent class is weak sauce(especially up the middle) -recent draft classes have been ...

I'm a big proponent of the ROOGY and multiple LOOGYs also. It's a great way to maximize the talent of role players.

Re: Service Time For Expansion Draft

2 years and 161 days and over would need to be protected.
2 years 160 or less would not.

Again, this is just my understanding and not 100% official. OOTP can be wonky on things like this and make people eligible that probably shouldn't be.

Re: Service Time For Expansion Draft

It's a valid question to ask if guys with 2 years pro service right now are going to be protected or not. I was looking at my minors to start forming a protection list and noticed that every prospect had one less service year than years played in the minors - leading me to believe that the service ...

Re: Service Time For Expansion Draft

FWIW, I'm a as bad of a chump team as you can be and I'll probably end up losing just as good, if not better players then California will lose. Without protecting Gonzalez, Dominguez, Workman, Valentin, Tavio, Castillo, Hernandez and about 2/3 of my BBA roster, my list is currently at 27, meaning I ...

Re: Service Time For Expansion Draft

Generally speaking a season is 172 service days long. At this point in the season we are at day 154. The clock does not run in the off season so it wouldn't matter if the draft is in October or March. So to the best of my knowledge any player with 2 years, 154 or more days will need to be protected....

Re: 34.4. A Flurried Finale

I didn't think our trade was that bad. You made the same exact trade available to anyone just without Belcham and nobody bit. Belcham is a 1-1.5 WAR platoon player who is a great left fielder or a passable CF and is just one year away from free agency. The only thing that is going to make this look ...

Re: Sticking Points 2034.14: Driver's Seat for Playoffs

You are probably going to be the hands down best team in the JLA in 2036, maybe even 2035. Jacksonville will no longer be in the division and Charm City will have Salazar, Winston and Behner all in walk years in 2035. So they will either go all in for a year or just break it down early. Atlantic Cit...

Re: 2034.8: JuanProb?

I think you owe it to yourself to let him finish his career in Mexico City. I'd still leave him unprotected in expansion though. The expansion GM's know his history and will stay away. Well, Stu might draft him just to be a dick, but he'll at least offer him back to you before playing a game in Wich...

I wonder if stealing home still heavily factors in the catchers arm or if it's solely off the pitchers hold/runner skills.

Must be nice to play in a such a grand division where a .485 winning % leaves you .5 games out of the playoffs.

I don't think there is a way other then each player strategy. I already do what Fred does and just DL 95% of D2D injuries. But after seeing this I'm going to go ahead and click on "Bench Player if D2D" for any fragile or important players I have. I don't think it's your fault and with a guy like Per...

Re: 2034.09 - Perrolas tears UCL... again

I blame the in game manager. Perrolas is fragile with numerous injuries like you mentioned. He sprained his elbow and missed 2 weeks. On his first game back he strains his rotator cuff and misses 7 more weeks. On his first game back from that he complains of a sore back. Yet his manager proceeded to...

Too bad a guy like David Cantu wasn't available. He'd look a lot better then Kenny Hill. On the bright side, that Bupkis guy looks like a bumper.
