Early season, but that has to revert....right?
Yeah, it will. No need to panic.

Yet.

Re: 2038, Sim #3 Chatter

If you assume every team has equivalent odds as any other of producing a player of the week (which might not be too bad of an assumption - such a SSS probable evens the playing field relative to talent) then the odds that both of your teams win it in their league in the same week is 0.41625%. So... ...

Re: 2038 Opening Day Relative Ratings Snapshot: SP

I only skimmed the above conversation, but whether the game calls it 20-80 grades or 0.5-5 stars it's the same thing. And players having good grades/stars being lesser than others with bad grades/stars is a tale as old as time. Even in a neutral stadium a 40 grade LHB > 40 grade RHB. Maybe a bit les...

Re: 2038, Draft Order

OH Noes!! Time to reset the ratings again!!!!!1  I get your intent with this so I apologize for being "that guy", but... :geek: With the ratings set as referential to the league, they already are going to be constantly changing irrespective of commish tinkering. I'm not positive if a heavy dra...

Re: Best Start: Johnson

DHs and 1Bs, blah blah. How about a catcher with a .302/.4/.628? Gotta go with Kondo, though. He's averaging 7IP/start with a 1.1 FIP. Currently on pace for 15.6 WAR if he keeps it up (which he won't - that's best season ever even above Nebraska status - but that's the point of these early projectio...

Is there a way to see previous days games on the real time sim? Or some other way to check those scores without the OOTP client?

Re: 2038, Sim #2 Chatter

I remember there being a discussion once about playing through a "playable" injury and its affect on the player. Well, here's an anecdote to add to the pile: Morales had an injury that only affected his throwing. So, I decided to try slotting him in at 2B instead of SS until he healed (thinking both...

Re: 2038 Opening Day Relative Ratings Snapshot: SP

It'd be interesting to see this list done again at the end of the year with aggregate WAR or average FIP or something as the new 'sort by' feature.

38.3. Chomping at the Bit - Prospects Eyeing ML Promotions

After a quick re-tool last season (and an uncharacteristic stint of *patience* in not trading away prospects over the past few years) in Huntsville, the Phantoms now find themselves with well stocked high minors full of prospects fighting for promotions to the majors. Here are some of the highlights...

38.2. Opening Day Rotation - Concerns Abound

Phantoms management was not shy about what they were looking to come away from the offseason with: starting pitching. Reports flew that that they were in on all of Greenwood , Flores and McHone to varying degrees, but ultimately struck out on all 3. In candid conversations with various members of th...

38.1. Defense Musical Chairs

After realizing just how bad Rutledge was at 1B last year (-14.9 ZR), the offseason started off with a bit of a sour note in Huntsville. Rumors abounded of perennial 45+ HR slugger, David Hall being on the trading block - with the thought process being the expedited movement of Rutledge to DH. Now w...

Re: Mike trout

Baseball is team over player for fans because of the disproportionately small amount of time you actually get to root for an individual relative to other sports. In basketball you get to see your team's star player for 90% of the game. In football you get to see your team's star player for 50% of th...

Re: Spring Training Rosters Reveal Differences

Gotta knock that rust off your regulars, too. For ST I generally put together my true opening day lineups and then assign backups to start every 3rd or 4th day. If it's a backup that I'm trying to teach a position to or a regular with a really bad injury history I'll bump that to every 2nd day. In t...

Re: Mike trout

The streets of Philadelphia are flooded with tears. Trout spends like 90% of his free time in the Philadelphia area (Eagles season tick holder, frequently at Sixers games, random sightings around the city, etc.) - I'm hoping that we keep being nice to him now that we're not all taking for granted th...

A cheat sheet for RP valuations... A 4.35 FIP in 67.1 IP last season with 0 ratings changes this offseason = completely cooked A 3.18 FIP in 44.2 IP last season with 0 ratings changes this offseason = going to fall off a cliff any day now Other than disagreeing with you all on everything ( ;) ), it ...
