Re: 2013 MBWBA Amateur Draft: Best/Worst/Interesting Moves
Don't be unveiling my secret! Once we get to Round 2 and on, I begin to look for conversion type players no one else may look at. Patmore, and even Farias who I took 4 picks later, are fringe starters but potential RP conversion guys. Patmore needs a boost in endurance in order to qualify. As a left...

That's What Cheesehead: 13.12 - Sim 5 Recap, Wheels Fall Off
I t took a little over a year, but the Wolves are finally playing to what everyone expected at the beginning of 2012. With a 2-7 sim, the Wolves have fallent o below .500 and have now had 4 consecutive losing sims. The Wolves have gone 14-22 (4-5, 4-5, 4-5, 2-7) over the last 4 sims and have gone f...

Re: 2013, Sim #5 Chatter
Madison goes 2-7, putting us at 14-22 over the last 4 sims... This is the Madison team I expected last season.
Perhaps time to sell again!

Re: Madison Wolves: One Last Hunt For The Wolf Pack?
Outstanding write-up Ryan and I think you pretty much hit every nail on the head with this team. There are obvious strengths and weaknesses on this team and I think you captured all of them. Strengths: 1. Ability to take a walk 2. Bullpen 3. Power hitters who "can" capitalize on the RBI chances but ...

That's What Cheesehead: 13.11 - Sim 4 Recap
G onna have to make this one short and sweet. I have a paper/project due for my classes and I am procrastinating as long as I can but can't spend a ton of time on this but the next sim is tomorrow and I'll lose the sim results if I don't do it now.... The Wolves went 4-5 for the 3rd straight sim an...

3rd straight 4-5 sim for the Wolves. Looks like that flipped pythag record of last season is catching up to us this season.

That's What Cheesehead: 13.10 - Sim 3 Recap
B ack to back 4-5 sims have given the Wolves a 15-12 overall record for the season which is still good enough to hang onto a slim lead in the division. All 9 games that sim were against teams from the FL Midwest. So after completing a 4-7 stretch against that division in interleague play, the Wolve...

Re: 2014 Expected Draft Order by Month - As of April 2013
After last season, I don't guess I can play the underdog card and about how we are overachieving and no way we stay where we are... Of course, I have started 2 rookie pitchers over the first month and a guy who is a rookie "starter" and has a control of 3. With that said, no way we win 90 games and ...

Thoroughly enjoying Bradshaw's late career renaissance. You look over his career, and he really hasn't been a bad player for any of it. A career .380 OBP and .805 OPS. That's not too bad. It isn't HOF worthy or anything, but it makes for an above average role player. His 2005 season was strangely b...

That's What Cheesehead: 13.9 - Sim 2 Recap
T he Wolves entered sim #2 knowing things were going to be tough. The schedule had them playing 6 games against playoff teams from a year ago with 4 games against the defending JL Pacific Champion Mounties and the reigning Landis Champs in New Orleans. The Wolves hoped to make a statement agaisnt b...

Wolves go 4-5. About what I expected this sim with 4 vs Vancouver and 2 vs New Orleans. Would have been nice to pay NO back for last year but the beat rolled on with them taking both.

I personally have fun creating 2 DMB themed players every off-season. And I try to make their names "somewhat" realistic.
Lyenour Graves sounds like a real name. Haha

I like them. Beats having 3 guys on your roster named Jorge Garcia.

I was about $5 million under going into Spring. Started the season over the salary cap. I did call up a lot of guys though. I've already released a player to get under for sim 2

T he 2013 amateur draft is underway and the Wolves have made their first round draft pick, 16 overall. With the 16th pick, the Wolves drafted a familiar name by taking high school pitcher Jay Lee, Jr from Marquette, Michigan. Lee is a 6 foot, 1 inch 215 pound lefty carrying some pretty good genes i...

That's What Cheesehead: 13.7 - Wolves Unveil Banner
T he Wolves opening day game on April 1st may have been the start to the 2013 season, but it also tied a bow on the 2012 season. In the Wolves 3-1 victory over the Baltimore Monarchs, the Wolves unveiled their 2012 Johnson League Pennant beyond the right-center field wall. The JL Championship banne...

Re: 2013, Ammy Draft Chatter
Chose Lyenour Graves at #13. Had some choices but decided to go with the reliever that appears to be not far off from helping the big club. Still got plenty of good talent available. The first of 4 DMB players taken that are in this draft. Was hoping Stark would fall to me at 16. His ratings fit ri...

Love Wolarski at 5 to Des Moines. Hard throwing lefty with ratings close to Jessie Wright. Control may be a slight issue but dude will be near ready by the time this draft is done.

Liking this draft. No way the guy I want falls to 16 but should be some pretty useful guys there by that pick.
