2024.7: Doubleday Series

You wanted it and you got it: Omaha v. Huntsville: The Doubleday Rematch. This series ended up being a slugfest between two heavyweight fighters. Omaha took games 1 and 2 at home by way of a Dwight Davis walk-off 2-run shot in the bottom of the 10th to win game 1 5-3 and a masterful performance by A...

Re: Awesome Slugger Sauce...2024.12 Starter report cards

Glad to see Considine did well for you in the rotation. He had one great year as a starter for me and never got his head straight again.

Question:

Is it really an upset if literally everyone picked you to win?

I really could've used Sunshine in this series against your righties. Oh well. Good luck in the Landis, Ted.

Do tell. I literally know nothing about this whole situation except for what has been mentioned in this forum and some random tidbits here and there.

You guys really don't know the story?

Long story short, Hoot got mad, went psycho, and deleted every TN and article he ever posted in the forums and left.
Any idea why? Did he just snap or what?

Re: 2024, Doubleday Series Chatter

Well, you know it was a great series when I'm getting jacked reading game logs.

Fantastic series, Kyle. If Moreno had gotten any help I would've been in trouble. As it was he almost single-handedly wrecked me.

See you again next season, same time same place?

Re: 2024 JL Doubleday, Huntsville/Omaha: Grudge Rematch Riva

The buildup to this series has been eerily similar to last year's. Hunstville gets hot late, finishes the season winning a 4 game set with Omaha, advances from the Geo to face Omaha in the Doubleday. The parallel is making me... uncomfortable. The fact that I had a hot team in September should help....

Re: 2024 FL Geoghegan, Las Vegas/ATC: Heavyweight Fight?

Fun fact: That grand slam that Elroy hit was his only hit of the series and was also Halifax's only HR of the series (according to OOTPOU). They only scored 3 runs in 27 innings after that, so it isn't terribly surprising. Ha. I just realized I posted this in the FL preview... JL - taking over ever...

2016 HoF Class

Griffey and Piazza. Griffey sets a new mark with 437 of 440 votes (who left him off their ballot, seriously) and is the first #1 pick to be inducted. Piazza elected in his 4th year and is the lowest drafted player ever inducted (he was drafted in the 63rd round or something insane). Thoughts? Feelin...

Re: 2024, Awards Voting Chatter

Secondly, Doug Glover could get a few votes for JL Silk, although it's hard to see him beating out Brito's outstanding year. He put up 4.0 WAR, 20 HR, and a .297/.348/.561 line in 79 games with the Crusaders. The team was 38-44 prior to acquiring him and went 46-34 afterwards, improving the offense...

Unfortunate but warranted Yes, we think so too. We knew it was inevitable as soon as Steever rejoined the league. At least we don't have to try to coexist with his enormous ego. Recte, we already apologized to Weiner about the hope you overdose and die remark. (At least we did not tell someone we w...

Another 7 win sim and secured a playoff berth. That'll do.
