Re: Halifax Hawks 2023 Preview

Kyle, I think you're probably right about Halifax chances if this roster stays the same. With no chances, I'd see 77-83 wins, depending on injuries. I just feel that Chris will probably make some kind of move to add or sell, or suffer some catastrophic pitching injury. Chris, I'd trade you something...

Ouch, sorry man. I think that's a real disappointment for the whole league.

Re: 2023 Preview: California Crusaders

You pretty much nailed it, Adam. Nice job and thanks. I'm still figuring out the dollar value of players in this league and would rather only marginally improve for another season than sign an abysmal free agent contract that would reset the entire rebuilding prospect. In retrospect I missed some gu...

Halifax Hawks 2023 Preview

I understand that Novia Scotia is quite nice to visit in the late summer. This is good as Halifax Hawks fans will likely need something to do in September besides cheer on their beloved baseball team. The Hawks are clearly in a transitional phase, losing talents such as Jonathan Archer , Diego More...

Re: 2023, Hall of Fame Voting Chatter

The other thing is that the history and HOF are clearly important to Recte, which is why voting is mandatory. As Recte (with all due respect to the other governing members who put in a good deal more work that I do) is the reason this (and some other) leagues exist for us to enjoy, maybe we should d...

Re: 2023, Hall of Fame Voting Chatter

I don't know. It doesn't take THAT long to vote. I've only been here for two seasons and it takes me about two to three hours to do it right. (Look, I just wasn't here when many of these guys played so stats are all I have to go on.) Most of that time is spent figuring out who the heck these guys ar...

Re: Huntsville Phantoms 2023 Preview

As an aside, in my experience, I don't think anyone has ever been "too left-handed" in this league. The inverse; however, happens constantly. I don't know. If you run into a team with two good lefty starters in a series (if that's even possible), you're in trouble, But yeah, it's a minor weakness. ...

Huntsville Phantoms 2023 Preview

Phantom fans rejoice, as the 2023 club will look nothing like the dumpster fire that was on the field to begin the 2022 season. Six trades and a waiver claim have added talented players Carlos Gabriel (traded for last year and resigned as a free agent), Ignacio Rubio , Luis Frietas , Alejandro Ramo...

Coach ratings

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm really unhappy with the way ootp 15 changed your ability to scout coaches. I understand that maybe previously it was too transparent, but now for certain types you have no idea if they are any good. The scouting blurb on managers and bench coaches is alright, if ...

What exactly is an accidental nap?
It's when I'm laying on the couch looking at fantasy sports and I realize I have a pillow and a blanket nearby

What in 42 starts? His pace was for 38 (still not good), but not 50.

Don't look now but ...

Ignacio Rodruiguez is getting beeeeeetter. He was 9/6/8 and 1.5 star when he was initially traded I think. I know star ratings are shaky player to player but he'd gotten to 2 star by the end of the year (probably subtle FB and CB improvement) and he just added a point of CO to get to 2.5 star. Wher...
