This is....bad.
Had you told me that Seattle would be in first place in bullpen ERA I'd have asked if the team was on pace to win 110 games.

I was admittedly surprised that Penharanda wasn't up yet.

It's bonus funds so it will be charged off at the beginning of next season.

Hard to complain with the start. Not surprised Charm City is good: surprised they are this good.

Re: 2040, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter

By the way, having gotten home and loaded up the game, I notice that Statsplus doesn't match the draft pool in game.

It's still not a very inspiring draft pool but it's a lot better than it shows on Statsplus. We might be able to get through a first round. We've had equally bad drafts before.

Re: 2040, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter

By power creep I mean talent inflation gets higher and higher with each successive generation. Pretty soon you start seeing guys with 14 con and 15 power and goofy things like that. Hell we already have too many guys above 10. Then your leaderboards become flooded with more and more recent players....

But instead of B & O, the whole draft class just has BO.

Re: 2040, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter

It's just that I don't see five batters that are usable. At all.

I see at most two dozen pitchers who are.

It's not a matter of blues or yellows or greens - I know the center of these things has changed and I'm happy to change with it, but this cupboard is BARE.

Re: 2040, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter

So, politely,

The hell is this shit?

I get rebalancing, but I'm pretty sure this is what BBA players might look like after thermonuclear war.

Rockville passes.

Re: 2040, Sim #3 Chatter

Check out Charm City! I looked them over closer, and I think this one's a legit miss by Justin: they look pretty darn good. I mean, Omoruyi can't do what he's doing all year, but swap him with Guerrer and the offense looks pretty airtight.

I think they could take a wild card at least.

Re: Your 2040 BBA Media Guide!

Losing Jim Armstrong is something I don't lament at all, really. Without Martin or someone like him, I don't win two titles in a row, probably. The fact that Armstrong turned into one of the best pitchers in the BBA is cool, but where I was drafting I wouldn't have gotten him if he were like that w...

Sticking Points 2040.6: A Look Ahead to 2040

If we look ahead to 2040, it appears to be more of the same for the Pikemen. This might not be true in a year from now, but for the 2040 season the Pikemen should again contend for the JL Atlantic crown, even in the new-look JL Atlantic Division with New Orleans and Jacksonville. The challenge might...

Sticking Points 2040.6: Julio Barajas, Teen Phenom

Around midseason, the Rockville offense was struggling to put up runs. Chip Puckett first hit .260, then got traded. Manuel Marino, Francisco Flores, and Lorenzo Palacios were doing their thing, but the rest of the team was locked in a malaise. Felix Delvalle, a very valuable player at second base, ...

Sticking Points 2040.5: A Look at the Rockville Farm

With three services in the BBA rating farms, how good Rockville's farm is depends on who you ask. Rockville's farm has gone through a boom phase over a transformation over the past few seasons. Looking at the farm, one could hypothetically see the future of the Rockville team in a few seasons. AAA D...

Sticking Points 2040.4: Palacios Finishes 2nd in Sawyer Silk, Gets Extension

Before there was Julio Barajas, there was Lorenzo Palacios. Palacios, the 2035 Joe Gillstrom Award winner, four-time Golden Bat Award winner and this year's runner-up to got a big payday this offseason, garnering a six year deal with a fourth-year opt out. "This was my dream as a kid growing up in F...

Sticking Points 2040.3: Larry Blake, Others Taken in Expansion Draft

Yesterday, the Rockville Pikemen lost three players in the 2039 expansion draft: starting third baseman Larry Blake, starting pitcher Lee Morgan, and minor league starter Shuji Kokawa. Blake had been a starter for the Pikemen since his rookie season in 2034, but never panned out quite the way the te...
