Re: 41.06 TWC Undrafted 23 Year Old Pitcher Grinding his way to the BBA

I always believe in my pitchers, I’m dead scared to throw any away in case they suddenly develop lol. You have to be really shite to get booted from me on ability. The most common cause of my pitchers getting the heave ho is simply lack of roster spots.
Always believe . . .

Cairo taking to drink

I'll be volunteering at the Manchester Beer festival from Tues 21st until Sunday 26th. I should make the Tuesday sim, the Thursday sim depends on me having both time (usually over at festival from about 9am to 1am the following day) and the hotel WiFi working. I'll probably miss the Sunday sim too, ...

Growing old in Cairo (2041-12)

Restocking the Chariots It’s always hard to analyse the UMEBA draft and the future impact of the available players simply because the draftees are so young, a lot of those available are in the 16 & 17-yr-old bracket with some even younger. Cairo’s ambition for the 2041 Amateur Draft was to major on...

Oh, and I forgot to say Ron, nice piece ! Although I would have thought Cairo’s Ricardo Castrejon might have warranted a mention lol

Re: An Informal State of the UMEBA: A Look from the Outside In

At the moment, I’m looking at having to cut at least two of my best players in the off season to lose the projected $10-11 million over the salary cap next year. If I don’t cut my two top earners, it could be four or five to go so I can squeeze under. And I’m not the only one, if you look at the sal...

Re: An Informal State of the UMEBA: A Look from the Outside In

The UMEBA is riding for a fall though over the next couple of years though. With a $35 million salary cap a lot of the teams will have to shed at least $10 million in payroll over that time to come in under the cap. The increase in reputation is good but players are coming across now wanting around ...

Growing old in Cairo (2041-11)

Slowly the former juggernaut that is Cairo is beginning to turn direction by mid-May. At the end of April their winning percentage was a mere .370 and that wasn’t improved by losing their first four games in May. Winning seven of the next 11 games improved their winning percentage to .405, not much ...

Re: UMEBA Draft 2041 chatter

Yes, I was pleased to get Ralston ( although I only spotted him the previous round. The first part of a draft is always slower as there’s so much more on offer to choose from, by the time we get past the first few rounds there’s so much of a muchness left that more & more people often swap to auto o...

Re: UMEBA Draft 2041 chatter

Not really fantastically excited about those available so took a personal choice lol. Selected my created ammie Nigel Roberts (my full name is Nigel Robert Laverick ;) ), he's got some potential if he develops. Already sound defensively and you can never get enough leaders
