We Got Wood - 41.07 - The One in Which Free Agents Filed

A lot of guys have decided that they didn't want to play for Portland anymore. No wait, that's not right. The Front Office has decided that a lot of guys didn't fit into the Master Plan TM of the team's future even though that process seems to be foggy at best these days. In all, the club parted wa...

Re: Tater Talk: 2041.01 – Spuds Retire For The Winter (And Beyond)

Rutledge, a borderline HOF candidate that will fall short I'd say in the end.

Solid career though highlighted by two landis titles. Those coming with a team that didn't have "A Great Wheel"

Re: Madison Wolves - John Hale 2019 FL Charles Puckett Award (C)

Hedde Veenman's 2.8 WAR objects as well! haha

Nonetheless, I think the Hale acquisition I made the final season in Madison at least helped as I was trying to piece together some parts for the next GM. I probably lost more trades than I won during my time in Madison, but I think this one worked out.

We Got Wood - 41.06 - The One Where Veenman Stole From Us

A britration hearings are in the books and free agents have filed for the open market. The Portland Lumberjacks will be blessed with about $26 million to try and lure those free agents into Portland. That total could have been a little more had Hedde Veenman not stole about $2-3 million from the or...

Rolled the dice and offered lower arbitrations to Oh and Veenman. Note to self, don't do that again!

Maybe we’ll make a run at Harsnett in free agency and see what we can get out of him about the Master Plan (TM) ...

There’s no set style of play for the Lumberjacks? What kind of Master Plan (TM) is this?
A foggy one. Keep everyone in the fog.

And when we win, the plan will be obvious. ;)

We Got Wood - 41.05 - The One Where We Get a New Manager

T he managerial run of Mr. Tarafah-bin Bahir was a short one. The guy found of the streets of Portland and inserted in as the team's manager when it became official that Portland was getting a team will be a one-and-done guy at the helm of the Lumberjacks. The 34-year old Kuwaiti's contract was all...

I don’t know. I think some of those guys may go for less on the open market than they were asking for. It’ll be interesting to see.

We Got Wood - 41.04 - The One About Movember

I n an effort to continue to raise awareness for a variety of forms of cancer in males, several Portland Lumberjacks players decided to participate in the annual Movember movement this year and donate thousands of dollars to various organizations in the area. Here is what players had to say about t...

We Got Wood - 41.03 - The One Where Wilson Drank Too Much LIT Mix and Got Drunk on a Week Night and Typed a Team News

L et's be honest. It's a Tuesday and the title itself should earn me a couple of participation points alone. But hey, why not roll with it! GM Chris Wilson : Alright, Kate. It's year 2. Time to get serious. Blah Blah Blah. We still have expansion cast-offs, but we have to improve. Assistant to the ...

We Got Wood - 41.02 - The One Where We Add Wings to the Hall

O ne of the good things about being a new franchise is your history starts from day 1. And being in place from day 1 allows you to preserve that history. Portland Team Owner David Wallace and General Manager Chris Wilson announced today that the club will do all it can to preserve the history of th...

We Got Wood - 41.01 - The One Where Harsnett Opts Out

T he first player taken in last season's re-vamped Rule 6 draft, Jayden Harsnett , has opted out of his 3 year contract and will become a free agent this off-season. A solid late season push made Harsnett a semi- valuable player this season. With the solid turn around, the 34 year old felt free age...

Re: 9-News: 40.082 -- The Power of the Home Run

Honestly, by the time I get to voting for the Puckett and Glove awards, I get lazy and sort by a category. For the Puckett award I sort by OPS on stats+. I typically go with the higher one of those unless something stands out to make me change my opinion. The OPS, and yes the HR and RBI numbers, put...
