Re: 2038-2039 Offseason FA Compensation Thresholds

Yes. That's an interesting case. Parrish made his WAR limits, but then signed a minor league contract. Technically, CCJ qualifies for a comp pick, but it's a MiLC. That was my question mark. Does a guy who garners a minor league deal provide a pick? I figured it’d be considered interesting. Of cour...

I offered 4/$72M with a player opt-out after year 2 and TO's in years 3 and 4. Last offer was 2/$40M with a player opt-out and TO. Nice signings.

I'll try to get one done. Will pick a team when I'm sure I can. Limited time as it is, but working on the Media Guide article has my attention at the moment.

Asking for a friend here, what is the cutoff for guys to sign so previous teams get a comp pick...
Actually, the list hasn't been made yet. I think I had 2 Type B players eligible sign with teams already.

It's somewhere on here, but I think it's Opening Day since we moved the draft into June. Someone correct if I'm wrong, please.

Re: Schmidt Resigns

I'm sorry to see you go. I personally love this league and never ever want to leave but I will say that if player demands continuously rise then so should the salary cap. That's why I mentioned the salary cap issues a few months ago but was shot down quickly. I've thought about this more. That coul...

Re: League Settings

I feel like Ron has showed that the amount of money available hasn't really changed much. Not by the amounts the players are demanding. There is a somewhat limited pool of revenue. If one of us suddenly made 300 mil in a year, the other teams would make less. Now, the amount of uncommitted money do...

Re: League Settings

Don't demands have to do with money available? Couldn't there just be a lot more money available around the league, therefore, players realize they can get a lot more on the open market? Why would he sign with you for less than $20M when he knows people can afford to give him that next year? I may b...

Re: POLL: Augusto Cardenas to start this season in rotation? (39.10)

Cardenas would be my last choice there Any specific reason why? I had no plans to put him there, but when I did a "ask manager for pitchers and bullpen" like I usually do and then adjust from there, it put Cardenas in the rotation and I looked at it and thought...well...maybe? His injuries are prob...

Re: UMEBA draft - don't bother with the 10th round

Story lines are off?? That sucks... I was wondering why Mark Wareham didn't host his annual Charity Golf Tournament this Spring. He'd been doing for the last 3 seasons. I think so, or certain story lines. It was a solution to the retirement stuff going on, mainly my situation. Maybe they can edit t...

This could turn into a Win/Win for everyone, or it could blow up in GM Calvaruso face and devastate the team financially for the next 6 years, but sometimes you just have to go big of go home.

Re: IAFA?

What countries are picked for IFA's in the BBA? It'd be interesting to have IFA's for the UMEBA be from countries that the BBA doesn't use. Like some of the small, obscure ones.

The excitement of the UMEBA will be to supply the pantry with some serviceable goods for the future BBA stars to be taken in the Rule 6 draft.

Some of this is hilarious. I think storylines are off now, so we shouldn't see random retirements anymore.
