Re: 2059.04: Bears' Development Lab Follow-Up

12/16/2058 I really wanted to train 1B Michael Schultz on his defense at first but the game is only giving me the option to target his defense in the outfield. I could roll the dice introducing him to a new position but won’t that be something other than first base since he played there all season ...

Re: 2059 BBA Compensation List

I don't mind double checking if I have the time. The rules are very complicated, and I would not be surprised if I got some wrong also. I can just barely keep up with the leagues pace as it is though.

Re: 2059 BBA Compensation List

David Simpson posted a 3.2 WAR in 2057 and -0.5 in 2058. His two yr avg WAR puts him at 1.6. Type B cutoff is 1.55 WAR. Ly posted 2.3 WAR and a 0.8 War. 2 yr avg is 1.55. Right at the cutoff. Vaughn had 4.7 and a 0.4 putting him at 2.55 2 yr average. Type B. Ashford was a none. None of those player...

Re: Brooklyn State of Mind: Robins GM Has Strange Experience (2059.2)

Be glad that you got out of those contracts. Wullenweber is done. He'll be out of the league by the end of next season. And while McNeil is a great player, he is not going to be a 40 win player. By the time Brooklyn closes the gap, he'll be old and falling apart too.

Re: 2059 BBA Compensation List

I hate to call out this list because I know everyone works hard. There are multiple players on here that shouldn't be. David Simpson had a negative WAR last year Lye had 0.8 WAR last year Vega averaged 0.85 WAR Cordell Vaughn had 0.5 WAR last year Ashford negative WAR Those were just some I checked ...

Re: 2058 - Cano Jr to Des Moines

I thought this was a win-win trade. bin Mazin is a better pure hitter(who also plays in a big time hitters park, in a hitters league) while Cano is a much better all around player at a scarce position. Santos coming up made Cano expendable to RMO. I'd be much more critical of the bin Mazin/Sloth Fra...

Re: 2059 – Options (Opt-outs and True Options – Player Stays)

I love using opt outs and team options, but I agree with Rob here. I don't see a point in player options. Players always ask for them but if you get rid of it they barely even balk. I mean if it's a deal breaker and I really like the player, I'll do it. I just feel that is the exception rather than ...

Rocky Mountain and Twin Cities

Rocky Mountain Gets
CF Júlio Martínez(S-A)
$5 million cash

Twin Cities Gets
C John Adams(RMO retain 50%)

Thanks to Brandon for the easy deal. Seems I always play Sacramento in the playoffs... may as well have one of the best throwing catchers in the game for our next matchup.

Re: Graphic Representation of the Batting Ratings Migration

I'm afraid to say this because everytime someone talks about changing the rules, a huge debate breaks out and gives the governing board a headache. But...... Being the internal rating has gone from 250 to 550, would it make sense to use a 1-20 scale instead of 1-10? I honestly don't even know how I ...

Re: Graphic Representation of the Pitching Ratings Migration

Are the Gonzalez ratings as a reliever? That's how he was used last year. That's as a RP. As a starter he is 6/7/7. Probably a #3 or #4 starter. Unless he somehow improves his secondary pitch this winter. Then maybe he can be a 2/ solid 3 at worst. It is kinda crazy that there is such a huge bubble...

Rumor has it that HGH retired as soon as he heard about the ratings switch. Refused to play if his power was rated below 13.

Re: Player Potential in OOTP 25

I like the change. It's just causing a big WTF moment. The line between a BBA bench player(even a second division starter)and a AAA player seems a lot more foggy than it was.

I think that is good in the long run. Much better than seeing players with 27 stuff on a scale of 1-10.

This probably has something to do with the illegal contract he signed prior to hitting the proper service time.
You are probably right. Seems weird that he has 6 years service time and the extension is 6 years. So it the timeline doesn't match up with him signing it before 5 years service time.

Re: How will you use the development lab? Long or Short

I feel like it's going to just play out on its own. If I have a 10 Stamina RP with two good pitches... obviously I'm going to push him for a third pitch. If I have a 10/6/9 pitcher... that extra point of movement would make a big difference. If I have a good hitting, 8 range outfielder... I'll try t...

Re: What the Frick?! | 58.04 | Doubleday Doozies

I hope we go 7 games with Sacramento also. Two of the biggest drawing teams in the BBA, both with 65,000 seat stadiums. A 7 game series could push us over $10 million in revenue a piece just for this series. My team this year is very traditional. I'm not really doing much shenanigans. The one thing ...
